“Staff great- rest of it so-so.”
Front desk staff, waitress in coffee shop, all Hotel staff we encountered were extremely efficient & friendly. They seem to have top notch staff overall. But...... Room a/c did not work at all-thankfully we could open a window or we would have boiled......path to the nearby Tropicana hotel for shuttle took us through the back of the garage, past garbage and out the back service entrance- seemed odd for a 4 star Hotel. Soap was not wrapped-made us feel like it had already been opened and no shower cap although there was only a shower-no tub. Breakfast in the coffee shop was not very good- oatmeal undercooked, muffin way over browned. Pancakes tasted stale. No butter served, and we asked for it, but when we were done we got peanut butter that someone else's table had asked for- dropped off by a bus boy. The valet service was atrocious- they brought serveral cars that did not belong to any of the waiting guests, could not find my car for over 20 minutes. I eventually had to go into the office and find my own keys on the rack for them to locate my car which they kept insisting was under some other name, but my name was clearly on the tag labelled correctly....no other real choice for parking, though. Don't think I would ever stay there again, but got a great "unpublished deal" deal.... I felt like we got a leftover room on a noisy floor after they looked at our reservation and saw where we booked. I know they were at 100% occupancy, but I expected better.
“VERY NICE!”
THE CHELSEA IS GIVES YOU A BREAK FROM THE OTHER HOTELS. THEY OFFER YOU A NICE PLACE TO STAY, AWAY FROM THE CASINOS AND ALL THE NOISE AND SMOKE. I WILL STAY HERE WHENEVER I'M IN ATLANTIC CITY.
“great place”
very clean, beds where by far the most comfortable hotel beds I ever slept on. full mini bar with snacks.prices were high ,but nice to have on a pinch.overall great stay
“Ram Apporved”
Yup, I travel A LOT! parties and sports, specially for USA Volleyball, we stay in every city and go to NICE hotels , SO we hope. Normally I am not happy enough to write these reviews but for the amount we spent and new & clean and wonderful the staff was, I had to take the time.
“Decent”
Don't be fooled with the pictures you see. The Chelsea has different towers. I stayed Anex tower (non-water front room) which only has 4 floors. The room itself was decent. But the building was a bit out-dated from the main building. It's a block away from the Tropicana and right on the boardwalk.
“Not Impressed one Bit”
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We used expedia to book 4 nights. Yes, the price was reasonable for what we thought was in store…..we were completely mistaken. Day one, expedia told us to ask front desk to upgrade our room if possible. They switched us from a king to 2 queens, so we could have a “view”. Once we get to room, we immediately call front desk, they don’t have any kings left…..weird Day 2 everything mostly good, housekeeping was a little late, didn’t look like she changed comforter on bed, there was also stains on bed sheet. Also when asked front desk what to do in Atlantic City other than boardwalk and gamble, she said nothing and hands me a map with the casinos on it, so helpful!! Day 3, hotel valet service takes forever, they were more concerned with parking cars than getting people into theirs to go enjoy their vacations, took 25 minutes. Day 4, housekeeper didn’t even come into room until 645 @ night, also housekeeper took my pillow I brought from home, all their linens are white, mine is blue….don’t see were the confusion comes in there. Everyday occurrences, toilet makes funny noise every time flushed. Also, wireless internet loses connection, and the ice machine room always has garbage. Overall, crap hole. Felt as because we booked threw expedia we were not considered “guests”.
“AC Classy”
Very elegant. My gf and I were very happy with evything. Close to boardwalk/beach. Close to Tangiers with good dining.
“would definitely stay again!”
I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel to stay at anywhere on the jersey shore. Atlantic City doesn't normally interest me since I don't gamble...but when I saw the cheap unpublished rate for a 4-start hotel I couldn't pass it up. The location is great-right on the boardwalk. The ladies at the front desk are welcoming and helpful. Valet parking is easy, but the line to get your car can be quite long at check out times. I didn't stay on the weekend....so unfortunately the pool was closed. Both pools didn't seem too impressive, that would be me only complaint. They were both small, a bit dirty, and the surrounding pool deck was worn. The room was well decorated and very comfortable.
“Poor Service with exceptions”
At a great location and well maintained but service not upto the mark.
“Would go back again”
Great service at the hotel. All of the employees were friendly, eager, and helpful, especially the beach staff. The only real issue we had was the Sunday night pool party. We had a Luxe Tower room that faced the pool, and the noise of the pounding music kept us up until 4 a.m.! Ask about where your room will be if booking during the summer months to avoid the pool noise! Otherwise, we had a very enjoyable stay! We would stay again.
