Malte pour 3/4 Jours maxiPosted May 2, 2015

Luxurious hotel in lovely leafy area.Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Everything !!!
Cons: The only improvement could be more dining options, not too keen on Oriental option.
Location: Location quiet but that was what attracted us. Near St Anton gardens and the Presidential Palace. Attard village is charming.
Hotel is definitely 5* with good facilities, restaurants, bar etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the courtesy bus was great as we were quite a way out of Valetta. May be trickier to use in height of summer but in late April there was never any issue with using it to and from Valetta or Sliema. Room was very spacious, clean and our balcony had the late afternoon sun so was ideal. Bar had happy hour 9pm to close so this made drinks very cheap and always accompanied with delicious snacks. Very nice ambience in general. Pool area was very nice but Summer Kitchen not yet open so can't comment on that. Again don't know what it would be like in summer but in early season very quiet and spacious. Separate paddling pool area away from main pool was a good idea both for the children and the older clientele. The main restaurant was quite expensive and limited menu (also did not like the menu type, very like one from cheaper chain outlet). Service was a little hit and miss, good on 1st visit not on the 2nd hence we didn't go back. Food was the same, good 1st time not so good 2nd. Breakfast was excellent.

"Spa" is an odd word herePosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Staff members were nice and friendly, recommended a nice restaurant outside (the hotel's one was closed).
Cons: Spa need to be brought to standard.
Location: Too far from the coast, need a taxi to go anywhere.
The pool is shallow and small. The sauna is so large it's cold, it is also outdated, one wooden beam was practically falling apart. The herb garden is a collection of small buckets. I did not try any treatments, they were unavailable as I booked at short notice, so can't comment on this. But I noticed that a therapist is available on week days late in the evenings, but not on the weekend evenings, which seemed odd. If you are looking for a Spa experience, I would not recommend.

Peaceful and attractive hotelPosted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: The hotel and rooms were all spotless and the grounds immaculate.
Cons: Our bedroom air conditioning did not seem very efficient. It could not be set below 17 degrees and the temperature did not seem to reach that figure.
Location: Quiet, inland location so need transport to get to main towns and attractions. However, San Anton Gardens is opposite is beautiful.
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and in a pleasant inland area not far from the capital. This does mean that you are not that near many shops and restaurants but the area immediately around the hotel is lovely with San Anton gardens and presidential palace opposite the entrance. The hotel service was very attentive and all the staff took time to assist. We found the indoor pool in the spa was, if anything, a bit too warm for general swimming but understand it is used as a hydrotherapy pool. The outdoor pool was filled during our stay there so needed a few days to warm up. Overall it was a most relaxing stay.

Excellent pitstopPosted Apr 19, 2015
Location: We took a pleasant walk in the botanical gardens across the street.
Our flight from London was due to touchdown at 11:30pm so we needed a place to stay near the airport for one night, before travelling on to Gozo. This hotel was excellent: very welcoming and helpful upon our late arrival. The room was delightful and we slept well. The morning shower was good and hot. We also booked massages in the Hotel Spa for the morning and these were superb. So we set off to Gozo fully restored from the journey and ready for our holiday.

Lovely hotel - wonderful staffPosted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: The staff are all fabulous. From the reception to the room cleaner to Kevin, packing our car up for us. They could not be nicer or more helpful.
Cons: Spa products in both the rooms and the spa showers themselves. The rooms do look a little dated in décor.
Location: beautiful gardens at the presidential palace within 2 minutes walking distance. Through these are more with a great playground for children.
A well sited hotel with courtesy bus to Valletta should you wish. Great buffet breakfast with attentive staff. Chef came out to discuss dinner menu with one of our party who had a food allergy and adapted food to suit. The spa was lovely - exercise classes/gym/treatments were all used and very reasonable. No parking at the hotel if you do have a hire car but plenty locally on the street outside at this time of year.

Belated Winter BreakPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: As noted above, the indoor facilities.
Cons: The rooms do not have luggage stands. Either you leave the suitcase on the floor or unpack it on the first night. A roomsafe would be advantageous.
Location: There isn't that much to do near the hotel, with the exception of San Anton gardens. A hire car or bus travel is required to visit Rabat and Valletta.
This is a very good hotel with excellent indoor facilities for a belated winter break, e.g. indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym. The quality of the restaurant food, breakfast provision and room service is excellent. Housekeeping could have slightly more attention to detail as they seemed to cut short the cleaning routine, especially if I returned to the room inadvertently, e.g. failed to leave sufficient toiletries. This said, the bed linen and bathroom towels were spotless and minor maintenance issues (such as the need to replacement a faulty light-bulb), were dealt with promptly.
