We reserved a king room for 5 days for our vacation to the RTJ Grand National courses. We wanted to play and stay at the same location so we could play golf during the day and then be at the on-site resort for dining. Our room was fantastic. It was clean and large, with a coffee pot (no cups), coffee pods, and a mini fridge. There was no microwave in the room. The bathroom was also spacious with a tub and a shower enclosure. There was a make up mirror as well as a hair dryer.
When we were checking in on Sunday night, the desk clerk let us know that the restaurant was closed until Tuesday, but the café would be open as well and room service was available for a nominal charge ($5.00). We had driven over 8 hours to get there. We were tired and hungry and not happy to know that dining would not be an option. We were told that the café would be open after 5:30 pm. It was not open. We ordered room service from a pub like menu. The service was pretty fast, but given that the hotel was spread out and had 3 floors, the food was not hot when we received it. The only microwave in the hotel was next to the check in desk, which was at the other end of the hotel. By the time we walked there, heated our food, and returned to our room, it was no longer hot. Since there were no coffee cups, making coffee in the morning was not possible. Coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the café were overpriced.
