Could do with a bit of TLC in places, very helpful friendly staff, thanks to the chef who came in early to do our breakfast as we had to leave before breakfasts started.

With slim pickins' this fits the billPosted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff of this inn were absolutely lovely. The facility itself struck us as what might have been a very happening inn in the late 1800's or so. There are only 8 rooms, all of which are on the upper level. They are quite spacious and have been updated since the 1800's, but probably not in the last 25 years. The beds however were incredibly comfortable and the sheets, crisp, clean, fresh white. The shower was TINY and the bathroom tired, but never the less, clean. Breakfast is a cooked to order traditional Scottish breakfast which we determined over our 10 days there does not include fruit of any sort. Non-meat or non-egg eaters will enjoy lots of toast and jam here and in many Scottish hotels. The bar is a beautiful old oak bar with a few beers frim the tap available in additiin to wine and spirits. Since there are few other choices in the area, we might return to this hotel, but the price was high for the quality of the room.

Friendly welcoming place to stayPosted Aug 16, 2013
Pros: The friendly staff
Cons: Lack of parking spaces
Location: Auchterarder is located between Perth and Stirling just of the A9. Beautiful senerary and the famous gleneagles golf courses right on the door step.
A very friendly hotel and a pleasant place to stay. Meals are good value for money with a sensible choice on the menu. The main factor to the stay was the friendly staff always smiling and genuine in conversation.

TerriblePosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was clean and tidy, however, we could have a shower on arrival as there was no hot water, the bathroom door did not close, no tv signal, plug socket not working and staff did not know wifi code. I contacted the hotel 2 weeks ago with details of my experience but I still haven't received a reply! Not impressed!!
Pretty basic.Posted Jul 29, 2013
It is what it is, basically rooms above a pub. Useful as one night stopover. Decor and shower room in desperate need of upgrading. Would rather pay more and get nicer accommodation. Auchterarder nothing to write home about.

Gleneagles station is a very long walk from Auchterarder. Otherwise the hotel was quite good, with friendly staff.

Made a good weekend great!Posted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: The bed was really comfortable, and the blinds were great considering how sunny it ewas that weekend.
Cons: There was an issue with the wardrobe door that was dealt with immediately.
Location: Ideal for our needs
Despite having a troublesome youngster with us the hotel, and more importantly the staff, were absolutely brilliant and could not do enough for us, we just wish we could have stayed longer. After a 5 hour drive the children were more than a little restless and yet it was no trouble to provide them with their tea, making a fuss with their ice creams. Breakfast the next day was fantastic, and when we left something in the room their help was first class. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Glendevon HotelPosted Jun 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Glendevon for two nights and the staff were very friendly, but the initial impression caused my heart to sink on check-in. Perhaps I had just missed the point that these were rooms over a pub. The pub looked quite gloomy and so we were pleasantly surprised by the room which was very clean and comfortable. However the en-suite shower turned out to be a bath with a hand held shower with a very small shower-head. The en-suite could have done with some upgrading. The TV in the room crackled on and then failed to work and nothing was done despite advising the bar staff of the problem. Plugging my laptop into the same socket caused it to crackle, so immediately switched it off. Breakfast was full-some.
