It's a really nice hotel to stay.

Pros: Closer to everything I need if I have some training at the Airport..
Cons: It's just one night stayed as I didn't bother to go all the way back home at the shore. It's awesome and handy.
Awesome! Nice service and facilities. Comfortable room.

Looks and sounds flash, but in reality it's not

Overall it was ...OK. You get what u pay for I guess. Asked for wake up call, but never happened. Tv aerial wasn't plugged in, cooked breakfast was, average at best. Parking was...hard. Room and the genral place was tidy, but slightly antient. Definitly not a Hotel, it's a Motel.

Cheap but you get what you pay for.

Pros: Cheap price inc breakfast. Free car parking.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Relatively near everything.
Could do with a complete re-furb. Booked for 3 and had to ask both nights for an extra towel, no hand towels, no serviettes at breakfast again had to ask. If you want a cheap no frills room then it is ok but nothing to write home about.

Terrible

This was my second stay at the Gateway Hotel. I stayed there a year ago and the service was fantastic very helpful staff and ALL the facilities were available for use was a very enjoyable stay, however over the last weekend when we had stayed it was very poor service. Very rude staff, the restaurant was in very poor condition with food and overall service bad. The spa pool and swimming pool were also not working while we were there which had we known we would have changed our stay to somewhere cheaper. Our overall experience there was very disappointing and would not go back there EVER again.

Good Price

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Price, free shuttle
Cons: Renovation
Location: Restaurant with good food & bar on sight. Strip mall about 1/4 mile//.25k with multiple food options. Bus stop across street. Close to airport
Hotel is older and run down a bit. Web sight showed free WiFi but they wanted to charge us for this option. The Restaurant food was good. We requested a wake-up call but did not get one, found out later phone was not working. Free shuttle to airport was good & the hotel price is excellent. If you are looking for a 1 night stay for a very good price, this is your place.

Close to the airport, but don't stay here!!

Cons: Renovate entire hotel, focusing on rooms.
Bottom line: its close to the airport, but thats it. Shuttle service is unpredictabe, rooms are stuck in the 1980's and nothings been upgraded, and they charge you for every little thing. My experience: I called for the free airport pickup around 10pm and they arrived 25 mins later, even though actual travel time is only 5 mins. I realized the same guy working front desk was the driver as well. The room did not have an actual heater (it was 13C outside), it only had a home floor heater, which I was afraid to leave on all night. Rooms were ancient and hadn't been upgraded since they were built (looked to be 1980's). Wifi is not free, or at least they didn't make it easy to get online. And they charge an arm and a leg for breakfast which is pretty lackluster (think "continental" breakfast), but it costs $13 separately. NOT Recommended.

Pay a bit more and stay somewhere better

Pros: Reception staff and driver from airport
Cons: Better food and staff in restaurant. Heaters which work in the rooms. Staff quieter at night in corridors.
Location: Nothing. It is near virtually nothing, so you can't go to a bar to enjoy an evening drink.
The staff were polite and friendly in the hotel part. The driver who picked me up at the airport and the reception staff. However, the restaurant staff had a total lack of people skills which pretty much matched the dreadful food there. I ordered dips and bread and received three condiments and lightly toasted french bread stick slices, which appeared stale, rather than toasted as they had no colour to them at all. When I pointed out that these were not dips, but sauces or chutneys used to accompany meat dishes, the waiter insisted they were dips and left me with them. The main course was a breast of chicken so I am puzzled as to how I nearly choked on a piece of bone that I found in the meal. Grossly overpriced meal. I had one beer with the meal and it came to $43. The rooms are extremely cold and the only heater was an ancient oil heater that did virtually nothing at all to warm the room.
