Ok hotel for its value per night stay

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Cons: I would say the parking in basement. Not suitable for 4WD car parking
Location: Approx 5-10mins walk to auckland city center
Overall had a good experience staying there for 3 nights.

Covenient location

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Walk down the road (it is down hill) to the Civic and concerts
Cons: Give the room some maintenance
Location: Walk to Queen Street and concerts
Easy to find. Easy to book in and no probs. Parking right under the building although if you have a big vehicle be careful there is not much room. Room was clean but dated. Mold holding the curtains together and one had a big rip. Also the bath/ spa maybe leaking from the mold along skirting board and flaking paint. Our free WiFi card didnt work but was replaced without fuss by the courteous reception staff

I love Amora

Posted Aug 11, 2014
I have stayed at the Amora quite a few times, this time I found the room a little cold through the night so an extra blanket would have been nice but we couldn't find one. Also the shower/bath tub door leaked and the water went everywhere. Other then that it's great value for money

Nice hotel close to city but quiet

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Such an awesome room to accommodate a much needed weekend away. My only gripe would be that the curtains were not black out and did not close properly. This meant that both mornings we were up at sun up at 6! No kids and still no sleep in. But, I will be back next time higher and with a different view of the city

Pleasant stay for a reasonable rate

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Quiet surrounding. Clean and spacious room. Warm and cosy lobby area. Very reasonable rate for a CBD hotel.
Cons: More friendly staff. Free parking lot for guests would be excellent. Free limited wifi usage.
Location: Walking distance to shopping and eating places.
We checked in about half past 10 at night. Check-in person's and check-out person's service were ok but not overly impressive. Lack warmth and friendliness. Convenient to CBD yet the surrounding was quiet. Had 2 good night sleeps. Room was clean. We could see Sky Tower from our balcony. The restaurant looked impressive but we did not use it. We had reserved a car parking lot. Hotel staff did not specifically tell us where we could park. He just said on the left. We saw many reserved signs and not sure whether we should park in it. But we did. We wished the instructions had been clearer. $20 per parking lot per day was pretty reasonable considering it's in the CBD. Comfortable and clean accommodation for a reasonable rate. Overall experience was satisfactory.

A surprisingly good place to stay

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Make the TV more available for personal use. The mode of payment to watch movies hampered us from using it at all.
We (Myself & WIfe) travelled to Auckland and stayed at Amora Hotel for 4 nights. We checked in late in the night (2AM) and had someone available at the reception (very courteous) to help us through for a hassle free Check-In so late in the night. The Room (on Level 2) was exceptionally well presented (Neat, Clean & Tidy) with all the facilities made available (as per booking). Each day the cleaning of the room was done on time and without delay. The staff were courteous and polite in the little interactions we had with those present during our stay. The location is very nice (quite road, with little traffic), with a little downhill/uphill walk to/from the Hotel. Overall, We are very happy to have chosen Amora for our stay and would recommend it.

Hotel was good but staff were terrible

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Rooms ,silent environment and handy to queens street where I get most of the buses.
Cons: Staff should be trained better with professional attitude. Some room freshener in the rooms would be nice.
Location: Sky city is very close. Ferry station is 10 minutes walk. Very handy to catch public transport to anywhere.
Hotel is nice, clean and tidy. Very silent environment. We booked a room with kitchenette and toaster was not working. We asked for the replacement on first day and they came and checked the toaster when we were away and said it is working. But second day evening I tried and it didn't work and I asked for replacement again. The staff in the reception said " we checked and it is working" and I told it was not. She sent a staff and he came with irritated face assuming I was wrong and later he checked and toaster was not working. He gave another toaster and left without saying any sorry. I complained three times and got the toaster only end of second day.

Family getaway

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Staff service in house - all very welcoming and accommodating. Great breakfast buffet!
Cons: Is hard to get in contact with the hotel via phone - rings for a very long time. Not so good when trying to make a reservation query
Location: AKL CBD
Short walk through the park to the centre of Auckland, we booked a twin room for adults & kids, beds were lovely and comfortable - one of the duvet covers had a stain on it. Bathroom needed a bit of TLC and was a single nutrigrain under the door that the vacuum must have missed but water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Hotel staff were very professional and welcoming, we needed an extra towel sent up and was there in a shot.

Nice hotel

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Nice and clean good staff
Cons: The air conditioning was not working properly in our room
Location: Near Queen st so long as you take the short cut through Myers park however I wouldn't want to do so after dark.
We were happy with our stay, we had dinner in the restaurant ,just a little pricey but nice staff and food.i
