Great for a longer term stay near University.Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: Space to spread out, accessibility to want we wanted in Auckland. Very quiet.
Cons: The elevators and front desk could get a little jammed at check-out time.
Location: Very close to both the University of Auckland, Queen Street shopping, and the ferry terminals.
We very much appreciated the apartment-like feel and kitchen after then long flight from the United States. VERY easy walking distance to the University of Auckland and museums, plus the shopping on Queen Street and ferries out to the islands. There's also the added bonus of a good Indian restaurant downstairs that does takeout and a market within walking distance.

No parking so a pain - had to park 350 m awayPosted Dec 4, 2014
Average stay - good value clean rooms but parking annoying - we stayed to be close to an event and time was tight - hadn't factored in walking 350m - no valet option- the drop off zone at the hotel is terrible but had to use it for passenger with mobility problems. Don't stay here if you have a car. Otherwise might be a good option on a cheap deal

Strange but nicePosted Dec 1, 2014
Great room/suite. Lively Indian restaurant as part of hotel. Excellent food. Parking is very limited and needs to be booked in advance. We temporarily parked in the driveway to unload suitcases as there really was nowhere else and as I got the cases to our room the phone rang and it was demanded I move the car immediately or it would be towed away. Not the best of welcomes. Suggest you have a bagman at the door to assist the flow of guests in and out, and perhaps a valet to park the cars in the alternative car park. First impressions count. And the celestial Waldorf needs to be better at this.

Great place to stay right down townPosted Nov 23, 2014
Well for starters we arrived after our long flight from Canada and they gave us our room about 10:00 am which we really appreciated! All staff members were extremely friendly. They upgraded us and we never even asked for it to a two bedroom apartment with two balconies! Thank you. Very convenient to harbour and everything else downtown.

Great for families with kids. Kitchen with microwave, pots, dishwasher and utensils. Very clean. Walking distance everywhere, to Queen Street or ferry. 5 minutes walk to 24hrs supermarket. Indian restaurant at the hotel is excellent.

No Frills hotelPosted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the television had an abundance of channels.
Cons: Maid service would be nice and a room that did not smell.
Location: The hotel is located on the fringe of the CBD and several blocks from the Britomart. Restaurants were several blocks away.
The hotel is modestly decorated as well as the room. There is a restaurant on the first floor and I assume the room odor was due to the restaurant. The bed was comfortable, kitchenette was clean and adequately stocked with utensils. The bathroom was adequately clean (shower area could use some cleaning). The desk/checkin staff were friendly but not very helpful as a conceirge. There was no maid service on our two night stay.

Pre/Post WeddingPosted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: The modern decor and location.
Cons: A bath in the room would have been the icing on the cake.
Location: We went to Orleans for dinner at Britomart and then Milse for desert - recommend both restaurants.
I stayed at the Waldorf the night before and the night of my wedding as it offered a good setting for photographs while remaining spacious. We stayed in a two bedroom suit and even got upgraded!! Hotel staff were very friendly and accompanying - we were given a personalized congratulatory card, chocolates as well as bubbles - felt very spoilt. Great location and close to britomart for dining, while still being close to the motorway for exploring more of Auckland.

Great location - perfect for a girls weekend awayPosted Oct 20, 2014
Fantastic location; Great room (Although a couple of extra towels might have been nice!); Convection oven was a waste of time - so don't rely on that for cooking.
