“Nice hotel in Auckland”
Excellent experience with Mercure Hotel in Auckland.
“Single traveller”
Staff all very attentive to guests' needs. I felt comfortable as a single diner for example. My order was hastened so that I could get to the theatre on time.
“Great location”
All round good service although we did not use the dining room. If you forget anything there's a 24 convenience store just across the street. Five minute walk to bus and ferry terminals.
“Be careful of the costs”
Be careful about whether breakfast is included. We arrived after midnight and the reception staff volunteered the information that breakfast was included. We were unsure of that so we checked the next morning at the breakfast bar where we were assured that we were entitled to free breakfast. Upon checkout we received a bill for $64 per day for 4 days for breakfast. Staff were from non english speaking background gave great service but communication was obviously a problem. We didnt pay it. Is this a scam? Also we hired a car and was told that valet parking was $40....they didnt say per day! Always ask more questions
“Great location”
The hotel is located conveniently at main downtown, close to the main shopping street and restaurants. Hotel staffs are very helpful. The room is serviced and cleaned everyday. Fresh towels provided daily. The hotel is generally clean. Not as modern as the other new hotels but maintained to provide comfort and value for money. The only downside is the noise coming from the main street.
“Excellent value in a central location in Auckland”
This is a large hotel just off Queens St in downtown Auckland, this very convenient location for a tourist. The room was comfortable, TV viewing available. I did not sample the breakfast which I considered on the expensive side, there are coffee bars across the road where reasonably priced breakfast can be had. Likewise the internet access was expensive and while convenient to have it in your room, in Esquires coffee house across the road you can buy a coffee and have free internet for 1 hour. There are also a wide range of internet cafes available in the surrounding area. The airport bus will leave you almost at the hotel and it can be boarded again a few minutes walk from hotel.
“Very convenient location.”
Location was great. Had dinner in the restaurant where the view was great and the service was good, food was average. All in all, a good hotel in the centre of the city.
“will stay there again.”
I will be staying there again. Hotel is close to ferries, buses, shops and great cafes. Staff are friendly (as are all New Zealanders).
“"Review"”
Pretty good hotel, stayed in Sky City grand before and the hotel rooms are almost identical in size. Nice flat screen TV, toilet with a tub. Located at the bottom of Queen st. Only complaint I had was that it wasn't noise proof and 1 night we could hear people on the street partying (This was from the 7th floor) All in all it's good for it's price but avoid if you can't sleep through the slightest noise.
“Good hotel choice in Auckland”
Great value for the money - right downtown, convenient to the waterfront and sightseeing. They charge extra for parking but the basic rate was so cheap all in all that was fine.
