The Room 302

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: The bed and the cleanliness and the location. I have stayed there before and found it fantastic, its a pity they have let themselves down
Cons: The bathroom facilities
The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom was a nightmare, the shower was either burning or freezing, the basin was blocked and one one of the vanity lights was not working. When I complained to the staff all I got was a "sorry" we were unable to shower at all and with the basin being blocked, we were unable to complete any sort of tooth cleaning

lovely reasurant on top floor for a drink and knib

Pros: centrality, i needed to visit the US consulate..
Cons: the bathroom, as mentioned above
Location: great location, very near the shopping and harbourside.. bus access from the airport was great too.
The central heating fan was very noticably noisy. The shower door was inadequate and flooded the room. The shower nozzle didnt stay properly upright

Friendly staff, convenient location. Big bathtub which is comfortable. The only drawback was the noise outside.

Great location, great breakfast buffet

Posted Jun 2, 2014
We stayed 4 nights and found this hotel to be very comfortable. The location is excellent, close to everything. The breakfast buffet is great, and the rooftop restaurant a beautiful place to start the day. Reception staff were friendly and efficient.

Best position in Auckland & Price

Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Superb position right in the heart of Auckland and so close to all amenities.
Cons: The room decor is dated and some of the curtains didn't close totally to black out the lights.
Location: Downtown ferries, short walk to Vector Arena, trains behind hotel, Viaduct harbour, Queen St and Britomart shops, Parnell, Ponsonby close by.
I have stayed many times at the Mecure and although it is a little dated in the rooms, the staff were very pleasant especially Jean Paul. What a valued staff member the hotel has!! Parking charges are high but I guess when there is limited space there. Attended the Michael Buble concert and superb position for any attendances at Vector Arena. Will be back.

Great location

Posted May 25, 2014
Cons: The room was a little run down and the walls were quite thin. Need to ensure floors can only be accessed using room key card.
Close to Queen Street/High Street/Vulcan Lane, the Viaduct, Wynyard Quarter and with the inner city bus link right outside the door taking you to Parnell (La Cigale market!), Newmarket, Ponsonby and more.
