Very convenient

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Its location.
Cons: Maintenance needs to be kept up to date. My room had a bad stain on the carpet, and there was paint peeling and a water stain on the ceiling.
Location: Bottom end of Queens street being walking distance to the Viaduct, Britomart, Sky Tower as well as supermarket just up the road.
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Other than the poor maintenance of my room this time (stain on the carpet, peeling paint and a water mark both on the ceiling) I find the hotel to be very comfortable and convenient. The staff are very friendly and accomodating.

Perfect location but not fancy at all

Perfect location on queen street for traveling by bus and train. Close to britomart. Room was tiny though with tiny windows and no view. Everything was clean and tidy but it wasn't flashy in anyway. Had a pleasant stay there and I would stay again.

Stayed there once before but probably not again.

Pros: Location - close to waterfront
Cons: Most everything - cleanliness, noise control, service and booking confirmations!
When we arrived they had only a twin single room for us even though we had booked for 3 people. We were supposed to have the King bed and single bed option but this had not been saved for us. They offered 2 standard rooms as a way of compensating. One room was really pokey. They offered free internet but only in the lobby (this was free anyway) but not in our room as they had no ethernet cables free - and yet one room had the cable in the room! So a bit of a lie I feel. To top it off there was some raging Nightclub not far away which had horrendously loud music till 4 in the morning. We had stayed here before and not had this problem with loud music so maybe it is only on occasion. I would regretfully not recommend this hotel now - unless you are going to be one of the ones in the nightclub till 4!!!!

Never again

First room as damp as the sauna opposite. Second room as loud as the nightclub through the wall. Third room bearable.

Great Location

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Location Price
Cons: Noise from the street
Location: Queen street, Sky City, Airport bus stops just a few steps away.
It is close to everything a tourist needs, buses, queen street and the ferry station. Can get a little noisy from the street below but nothing that can't be ignored. The only negative really was I wasn't told how to get the lights to work (putting the card in the slot). I arrived after midnight and it took a good ten minutes to work it out in the dark. Overall its nice, and will probably be even better when renovations have been completed.
