No sleep for anyone at this hotel

Pros: Clean towels, the lift works.
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: Watch drunks reeling round the City Mission. Hear drunks reeling from neighbouring bars and clubs. Listen to the rubbish collections and noisy trucks.
This place is located on a busy road with restricted parking. We were not told on booking that there would be no parking. This was hassle number one. There is a bar a nightclub and what appears to be a rubbish collection area adjacent to this property. Party goers kept us awake on Saturday and Sunday nights and a rubbish collection truck created a cacophony and woke us around 4am on Sunday. The bathroom is poky and paint is peeling off the walls and ceiling. We had our adult daughter with us and she had to sleep in a small bed in the communal living area. We had requested an apartment with separate sleeping for us all. When we booked we explained that we wanted something pleasant and close to a wedding we had to attend in Grey Lynn. This was the place recommended by the person we talked to. It was not the closest as we discovered and it was not handy to everything as it was described. To walk anywhere in the city it is necessary to pass rubbish, slums and the inmates of the City Mission drinking on the street. This is not what we said we wanted.

No air-conditioning!!

Location: Plenty of Restaurants and shops in the main city area which was about a 10 min easy walk.
I had not realised that the hotel did not have air conditioning and it meant the room was unbearable by 11.00a.m. The windows over the shower and in the room did not shut properly and we felt very unsafe in the shower as the window was wide open. The staff did come and shut them for us but the fittings were obviously old and the window in the bedroom would not shut completely. The location was fine and we were able to walk to queen st and restaurants easily.We parked our car in the basement and there was water flowing all down one wall of the basement which was a worry! Whilst the staff were really great and very friendly and helpful I would not recommend this property to other people. You would be best to look at a property with air conditioning and also that was better maintained.

Good clean place and helpful front desk. But that is not open all the time. Very useful setup with basically a city apartment, but bathroom needed maintenance. Good location. At half their advertised rate it was a good deal. At their full asking price, no. Service of room was excellent.

We understood that the secure parking was included that is why we booked here. We were not advised that we had to reserve parking. Also the sports channels were not available.

Pros: friendly staff
property needs serious renovation... not up to standards of quest... toilet flush was a big struggle as one of example... Nothing to take away from staff... good room service n very co operative but not valuefor money

No sky sport option channels

Pros: The amenities were excellent. Full kitchen and laundry facilities.
Cons: The bath was quite high to step into and out of

I might stay there again but only if they improve on the sky tv channels e.g. the sky sport channels especially. We went there because the advert said sky tv so we expected to have at least 3 sky sport channels to choose from as is the norm with most hotels that have sky tv. Apart from that, the room was excellent and the facilities were too. It was lovely and clean and quiet. Please add more sky sport channels and not just one channel. My husband is a Warriors fan and that channel was not an option. Thanks

Disappointing

The hotel claims 4 star status but clearly falls short of that. While the location is fine, the room was very old and tired. Paint was peeling from the walls in the shower area and the curtains were not properly fixed. Wallpaper was peeling away in the corridor. These are just a few examples of what was a disappointment in respect of fit out for the quality it claims.
