“Convenient and very accessible”
The hotel was centrally located and was conveniently located near the heart of city and the wharf area. Everything was within walking distance or bus connections. The vehicle valet service was also a great service. Overall we were pleased with the hotel. Only, one complaint, however, is that we never got our phone messages even though the lights were blinking on the phone and on the TV. When we called the desk, they indicated we had no messages. We had missed some very important Stateside calls from California. Magically, the next day, the tv monitor indicated that we had several calls (however the message was now a day late).
“Great Hotel”
Everything about this hotel was outstanding. The staff was warm, friendly and very helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff graciously helped arrange tours and reservations for us. We didn't eat at the hotel as their restaurant seemed overpriced, but there are many dining choices close by.

Found it easy to get around to the Skytower and harbour tours. Staff were great. Would definitely stay there again.

The location of the hotel was really good, close to pretty much all the touristy things you can do in Auckland (Queen Street, a bunch of good japanese/korean restaurants, gift shops, etc). The hotel is also pretty well known, so many services (eg: NZ Sky Diving company, tours, etc) pick you up from the lobby. Room is clean, very modern, and comfortable. It's probably better than the surrounding 5 stars hotels within the vicinity. I'm a VERY picky person when it comes to hotels, and if you travel on a budget, this hotel will give you the most bang out of your buck. It is also very close to the harbor, so that gives easy access to ferries to surrounding islands. If it's your first time to auckland and do have a lot of expectations, this is your best bet to start off a NZ adventure!
“A great value in the heart of Auckland”
Located just a few yards from the Sky Tower and 6 Blocks from the Viaduct waterfront, this hotel has an ideal location at a reasonable price. The service is good, the breakfast fullfilling, the internet works, there is a small gym. The hotel is busy with tour groups mostly. The rooms were above average and comfortable.
“Great Stay in Auckland, NZ”
The Rydges was VERY satisfactory. After a short bad time with the handicapped shower, a change of rooms, and a faulty toilet, everything went well for the rest of the time. The staff was very helpful and attentive as well as being very cheerful. The rooms were fine but the main attraction was the central location of the hotel. All in all it served us well for our visit.

Had a wonderful room on the 11th floor with a view of the viaduct harbor. We stayed for one week and were very satisfied with the condition and service at this hotel. Would definitely go back.

“Excellent value in central location”
The room was very comfortable, and the facilities were quite nice. The location, just a block from the sky tower and right at an "Airbus" stop, is ideal. The only downside is that there is no gym/pool at the hotel, so you have to go to the YMCA, which is about a 10 minute walk.
