Great hotel was close to where we needed to be

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Rooms was very nice
Cons: Nothing
Location: Walking distance to via duct and also we went to a concert a auckland town hall and was in walking distance.
Experience was good no issues. Everything we required as at hotel. If you did not want to leave for drinks or meals you did not have to. As you cater for everything

Father's Day present from our daughter.

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Well quite disappointing booked thru trivago. I phoned 3 times prior for a courtyard room and told unable to until check in which was incorrect by reception. Then we waited 2 hours for our room to be cleaned so bad. Then we got room 130 with no bath. Very inconvenienced from the outset and my husband wasn't at all impressed.

Great location right in city center

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: location, style
Location: Queen Street, Albert Park, Auckland Art Gallery, restaurants, Federal & Wolfe,
Enjoyed staying here for a quick 1 night stay where we wanted to be right in the central business district. The hotel is clean, modern & a great home base for walking explorations of Auckland. concierge services were excellent.

A vibrant, modern and trendy place to stay

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Large room with 2 large TVs, cool black and silver decor, separate air conditioning for bedroom and lounge (not limited cool air like some hotels)
Cons: Quite a walk to the room from the lobby, but at least the corridor was quiet.
Arrived late after a delayed flight, so didn't get chance to enjoy the public facilities. The lobby area seemed really vibrant. We got a free upgrade to a suite with a separate lounge area and bathroom with 2 sinks. The bedroom has 2 double beds. (maybe this was due to Honeymoon, maybe just vacancies in winter)

Great central location

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: Breakfast buffet had a good selection. Free WiFi was excellent.
Cons: General room cleanliness.. noticed black mould growing in bathroom. Broken glass was not replaced for the duration of the staty
Location: Central location, lots to do.
Hotel staff were generally good. Was disappointed that they have changed the policy about swimming in the pool unless you stay at the Grand. Very disappointed kids because of that.

Nice Hotel, pity about the Bed

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Good location
Cons: Stop locking guests out of their rooms and stop making guest wait 45 minutes at the Rebo restaurant when you change from Breakfast to the All day menu
Great location, modern clean spacious rooms, great bathroom fit out. While the bed was a good size (Californian king ) it was uncomfortable, very hard. We asked for a late checkout ( 12.00 ) which was provided but when we went to collect our bags from the room at 11.40am we found we were locked out of our room. As I was contemplating the long trek back to Reception I bumped in to a House maid who kindly opened our room for us, she commented that it happens all the time to Guests that have requested and late check out. Not good enough Sky City. Other than that it was a pleasant stay

It was a real value for money, clean and spacious!

The carpark and the lifts are confusing though! The direction / arrow pointing to " Hotel Reception" was confusing! The lifts frim the carpark do not have access to hotel reception , we had to change lift! The Fortuna Buffet was a ripped off! The food selection was not great and was very limited. Worst buffet we have been to.
