Accommodation after Rod Stewart Concert

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: Location to town. comfortable surroundings
Cons: Soap for guests for the shower.
Location: 20 minute walk to vecta Arena and close to most other places.
We were a little disappointed that we were charged a bond and this was not advertised50 anywhere, We found out when we arrived that we had to pay a $50 bond and this was charged to the credit card. They said it could then take up to 4 working days to refund it from my credit card.

good location close to theatres and conference

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: helpful staff, good central location, lots of space ,great view of Sky Tower
Cons: add window protection or shades to keep heat of direct midday sun out of room
Location: ideal walking distance to Aotea square and theatres and concert hall ,close to buses for other parts of town and airport
a bit hot ,due to design ,so had to keep fan on and window open and therefore noisy as I am used to quiet countryside

Good access to Auckland CBD area

Found Hair in shower, skirtings hadn't been wiped in one of the bedrooms and bathroom. A child's handprint on the wall. Lounge Seat was ripped. Balcony was black on my bare feet. And water was pouring onto our balcony from air conditioner pipe.

Ordinary to say the least.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Location is about all that was good.
Cons: Airconditioning????
Location: Located on Wakefield st just a short walk to Queen St and the viaduct, sky city.
Our room was pokey, windows opened out to very noisy backyard. Couldn't have our windows open because of this. No air conditioning so had to have fan going all night. We arrived a little early for check in 2.30pm instead of 3pm only to find cleaners still cleaning room and the previous occupier just leaving. We didn't stay long just dumped our gear and went out. We returned to our hotel around midnight after a concert only to find our swipe card did not work so had to call the hotel management to come down to reception. Card had not been activated properly. We left early in the morning so don't know if our $50 payment we made for who knows what had been refunded on our card or not. I would have thought the $200 we paid for the room in the first past was ample without this kind of extra charge.

Close to city

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Update the TV - when I travel is only time I get to actually watch it
Location: All of CBD nearby
The room itself was fine. No air conditioning made for an uncomfortable night because it was hot and humid. Big bug bear - small square TV, didn't do 16:9 and most of the channels didn't come through OK

Comfortable apartment style within city

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Cons: Did wish it provided free wifi.
Location: Near queen st, with plenty of souvenir shops.
We booked two nights, 4 days apart as we toured other places in between. The first night, the room was clean and comfortable. For the 2nd night, we were surprised that the room had air-conditioner but the room for the first night did not. As it was summer, it was pleasant to have air-cond in the room. However, the rates were the same for both nights.

Disappointing and joyless

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Cons: The customer service from the staff. The location and access of guests so I dont need to stay below the reception floor.
Location: Buy alcohol, buy snacks, surf the internet and play world of warcraft around the clock.
Unfortunatley the Tetra Waldorf is not very friendly. The staff are either busy or rude and extremely unhelpful. The hotel itself is small and basic and akin to a motel in a small country town rather than a 'hotel' in a major city. Location is awful, situated in the heart of backpacker territory with bottle shops and 24/7 internet cafes all around. Also the walk to the hotel from Queen Street is up a massive hill; it's impossible to get to your room without being covered in sweat.

"Waldorf" is meaningless

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Pros: Access to WiFi, which you can pay for.
Location: Location to the CBD is good.
The room was very small and cramped. They placed a cheap fan in the non-airconditioned room, which hardly blew any air. I would have thought the name "Waldorf", which I had associated with the luxurious Waldorf Astoria in the U.S., meant something. In this case, it has absolutely no significance and meaning.
