I absolutely enjoyed my weekend stay at the Crowne Plaza Austin! Comfy bed, great room service, and friendly staff!!!

Great hotel in a superb location. Everything was on point from the staff to the room to the on site restaurant. I only wish i was ableto make my room cooler than the 69 degrees that the a/c insisted on displaying. I just like to be cold to to sleep.

“Very Nice Stay and Will Stay Again”

We were in town for the weekend. Some of the other hotels were booked, we got a room here and loved it. We were gone a lot of the time, but will stay here again each year when we come for the same event. I would like to try other locations as well!

We loved staying at this hotel. During our vacation we stayed at a total of three hotels and this was by far our favorite. The staff went out of their way to see to my family's needs. We will look forward to staying in this hotel and look for this chain for our next vacation. Thumbs up.

“Absolutely Lovely!”

Everyone from the front door to the restaurant/bar to the cleaning staff were just wonderful. Hotel was clean. And in the room it was so quiet I thought I must be the only one in the hotel.

“An awesome place to stay!”

Having never booked a hotel through Expedia before, and taking a chance on not knowing the hotel (anonymous at booking time), I was very impressed with the Crowne Plaza. It was very close to my son's apartment, and as big as Austin is, that was a plus! We got a ground floor room with a terrace next to the pool. And we had room service breakfast Sunday morning and was the best hotel breakfast, bar none!!!!!

“Red Lion Hotel / Austin is a good place to stay”

Once a Marriott, the Red Lion Group has done some very nice remodeling over the years to make what was once one of Austin's top hotels even better. While other more "Premium/Luxury" hotels have been built, the Red Lion is nicely appointed, comfortable, centrally located, and reasonably priced. It has both a restaurant and bar in house as well as ballroom and meeting rooms and some great restaurants within walking distance.

“Good reliable quality”

I routinely stay at Crowne Plaza hotels. While some Crowne Plazas are rated 3.5 stars: this is rated as a 3 star as I recall. It was fine, though my expectation would have been higher if it had been a 3.5 star. The room was okay - everything worked, was clean, quiet surroundings, good coffee in the in-room pot, etc. It did not have a "staging area" outside the bathroom (usually a mirror & counter): a deal breaker for a family of four. I was just a touch disappointed in the service. I visited the front desk on three occasions, and each time had to wait for two people ahead of me, as there was just on person attending. The pool & hot tub was a mess. Leaves throughout. There had been a mild storm about 10-12 hours prior, but plenty of time for someone to skim it. When we asked when it would be cleaned, they did not know, but they did show us where the skimming equipment was. My son had more fun skimming than swimming, so that turned out memorable. Also, when we arrived, I usually find assistance with our luggage, but not this time. However, in all fairness, I didn't see anyone & could have asked for help, though I chose not to. Some missed details. Would I stay there again? Probably, though I would ask for a room with mirror/counter outside the bathroom. Perhaps I am accustomed to being overly spoiled by Crowne Plaza and I have the bar set too high.

We checked in at 11pm and they had fresh cookies for us. Room was great and we will go back!

“Exceeded Expectations”

Went down to Austin for the Mizzou/Texas game. Wasn't as close to the stadium or 6th street as I would have liked but it was less than $15 for a cab ride to either one. Staff was very kind, let us use the airport shuttle to go downtown once instead of having to pay for a cab. I would gladly stay there again.
