Needs work

Facilities are okay but they miss out on things like a menu in the room and shuttle service from the airport. Closet space is inadequate and the convenience store is virtually nonexistent.

Nothing special

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: It was calm and clean.
Cons: Crank up the water pressure and take a chance on picking a paint color.
Location: Several restaurants that you could walk to and right off I-35.
I had high expectations for a Crowne Plaza, but there wasn't much to get excited about here. I'll try something different next time. The service elevator is right next to the main elevator so I pushed the wrong button several times before figuring it out. No signage of course. The room was fine but the TV is low definition and not a ton of channels. I did appreciate that it was simple to work through, none of those silly hotel menus. The bathroom had been modified for accessibility by someone who liked white mixed with off-white, so it was 100% dull. The shower had no pressure and the head was too low for a 6' tall person. But the place was quiet, the bed was fine and the staff was friendly. All and all, I'll just try something else in that price range next time to try to find something a bit more inspired.

A View From the Back of the Bus

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: The overall room, the Speakman showerhead and the food
Cons: the business center computers sometimes are a real challenge
Location: this hotel is centrally located in Austin so there are lots of places to eat, the Austin music scene is nearby.
As a business traveler what I value most is a consistency and the Crowne Plaza delivers.that every time.

Our friends and us went to Austin last weekend . I made my reservation through you. They did them directly to the hotel. Their reservation included breakfast for 2 for the price . Ours did not. Why ?.

We stay here often

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: The friendly waiters and the pool.
Cons: Sometimes the elevators take a long time but I think they are working on that.
Location: About 12 minutes from downtown, easy access to the freeway. A few restaurants within walking distance. Easy drive to shopping.
We stay at Crowne Plaza often because we need the location and have always been happy with the value. They have been upgrading the hotel a bit and it shows. I noticed on our previous stay about a month ago it was looking a little worn but now I don't see that. Our room was very clean, plenty of towels, and the whole atmosphere was super clean and well supplied. The wait staff in the breakfast buffet are friendly and attentive and the breakfast is quite good. Free newspaper, tv, can sit as long as you want. Since we have stayed often they know us a bit and make us feel at home. The pool area is clean and orderly, plenty of tables and lounge chairs and towels. At this point we will definitely stay again.

Dated

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Booked a room with 2 beds thought they were queen size only had full size. Hotel is a little dated and they charge for coffee after breakfast in which you pay for. Was will to upgrade to a bigger room but they wanted too much money for a room they smelled heavily of smoke. Breakfast was good staff was really nice.

Great Value

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: Comfortable and relaxing room
Cons: Upgrade elevator
Location: There is a Texas Land & Cattle, Pappadeaux and Amaya's Mexican Restaurant.
The check-in was fast and friendly. The room was very comfortable and updated. The elevators and hall decor were outdated. It was quiet and relaxing. I just stayed there for convenience to 1-35. I would go back.

wonderful

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: I like the gym the breakfast
Cons: The size of the bed in the room. Always use Hampton Inn wheni travel. I thought the beds where queen size there only full size.
Location: The hotel is in a great location
I enjoyed my stay the staff was wonderful. I do think the hotel is a little dated is some areas like the rooms and the lobby. Breakfast was good staff for breakfast very nice and helpful. I think the hotel shouldn't charger for coffee in the lobby after breakfast. I always use Hampton inn when ever I travel. But I would use them again

Austin Stay

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: Good location. Large wheelchair accessible bathroom.
Cons: Roll-in shower in bathroom instead of tub. Updated elevators.
Location: Close to UT campus. Papadeaux restaurant next door.
All elevators not working. Elevators that were working were extremely noisy in my room next to the elevator bank.
