Very Nice Hotel

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Location: Close by to Expressway made it easy to get around
The hotel has an old charm and very clean and elegant. The staff failed to give the traditional cookie all Double Tree Hotels. Other than that my stay was excellent. The hot tub was a plus

Nice staff and rooms were clean.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: It was close to downtown and the staff was friendly
Cons: I wish there would have been a microwave in our room.
Location: Lots of dinning and easy access to downtown.
We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was friendly and the hotel was nice. Our room was very large but I wish it would have had a microwave. We didn't dine in the hotel because the menu prices were a bit high but the staff suggested local places and they were yummy. The pool and garden area was so beautiful. Overall nice stay.

Wouldn't go again

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Rented a two bed room, was given a single king. Had no other rooms available. Facilities and rooms look like they haven't been updated since the Reagan administration.

well kept older hotel

Posted Jul 5, 2014
I've stayed there 4-5 times in the last year. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The price is fair, the rooms are in very good condition considering this is an older hotel.

Austin trip...

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Close to I35 short drive to downtown Clean rooms hotel bar food was great
Cons: Pool needs to be cleaned. Went for a swim and there was a lot of hair, grass and other items in the pool.
Location: Plenty of food options in walking distance. Short drive to downtown and campus.
We had a nice, clean room with a pool view. Had a great meal and drinks at the bar the first night. The valet/shuttle staff were very friendly and took us to downtown and back both nights.

Nice hotel, safe, not too far from downtown

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Very clean, aside from some dust on a couple lamps, everything was pristine. There is a door in the room that leads out to a nice little balcony area that overlooks the pretty pool. Garage parking is connected to the hotel's floors so that was great and convenient. There are a couple restaurants very close by and downtown is about 8-10 min drive away. I'll definitely be staying here again.

Nice Hotel in North Austin

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: The location in North Austin.
Cons: Maybe the elevator to get to the parking garage could be updated and worked on.
Location: Close enough to get to Downtown Austin.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a last minute booking but they had a room available. The hotel itself was nice and clean and the rooms were as well. It was an overall good experience and hope to go back again.

Austin Visit

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and the room was clean when we arrived.
Cons: Always, always, always make sure there are no bugs. The price of the hotel is way too expensive to have guests stay with ants.
Location: Good location.
We were excited about staying at the Doubletree in Austin until we woke up the following morning. We were saving the delicious chocolate chip cookies for breakfast only to find them covered in ants. Not only were the ants on the cookies, but in the bathroom, in my son's suitcase, crawling on the nightstands, and on the dresser. I took a picture with my IPad and showed the staff downstairs. The lady (who by the way was very apologetic) did remove the $10 parking garage fee (which is ridiculous anyway). Her assistant told me the manager would be contacting me shortly to discuss the issue. I never heard from him. That will definitely be my first and last stay in the Doubletree Hilton on I35 In Austin, Tx. I should never have been charged for the room.
