Don't go here!Posted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Close to the Interstate. Near downtown San Marcos.
Cons: Try and make the room not smell like death.
Long story short: The room smelled like death, the bathroom door had some interesting stains on it (wished I'd taken a picture!), and the 'continental breakfast' consisted of some stale cinnamon rolls and discussing orange juice. The lady at the desk in the evening was friendly, but the guy who worked the morning acted like he could care less. I'm pretty sure that - based on the stains on the bathroom door and others on the ceiling of the bathroom - the room had experienced (or was still experiencing) water damage and had not been properly cleaned.

Where you want to go with family . The room, although clean, had a funky smell & was in a deteriorated condition. It was a lesson on not trying to save to much money!

AwfulPosted Jul 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Awful place. Booked 2 nights, canceled the 2nd. Empty beer cans in the cabinets, food everywhere, door wouldn't close all the way, ripped bedding. Just awful.

not horriblePosted Jul 22, 2013
Hotel was relatively clean, it's a pretty old building so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. A/C didn't ever get as cold as I would have liked but it wasn't that bad. The bathroom fan is ridiculously loud and the door would get stuck if fully closed. Multiple of the outlets in the room did not work, had to move the TV plug to get it to work, had to plug phone in across the room because outlet by the bed did not work. Didn't have any noise issues so that was a plus, pillows are tiny, I'd bring your own.

Pros: Fairly clean.Pleasant staff
Cons: Linens need to be updated. Finish repairs
Location: Good location. Close to freeway, easy to find.
bathroom ceilling was just repaired and just spackled over. Looked as though it could fall. Beds were old. Bedding was very worn. Way disappointing for the price.

Stain's on carpet like beach was spilled. Someone had kicked the wall in under the luggage area and was just pained over. The ceiling above the shower was falling down and had black mold on it. Very disappointed

Paid for the room and checked in- pitiful! Checked out and went to Howard Johnsons. I told them that I had a room at Econolodge and could not bring myself to sleep there. They gave me a room for 60$.
