“My new spot”

Small complex, all suites, cozy, CLEAN , quiet, very attentive staff, I definetely will book this hotel next time I visit Austin, 3 minutes from I-35 without the highway buzz and noise, nowdays is not easy to find a place that makes you and not your wallet feel welcome.

“Nice! Much more like a vacation condo than a hote”

I've found my favorite place to stay in Austin. Staff was gracious, polished and efficient. Landscapign was extremely nice. Very quiet. Very roomy. Quiet. Suite had two separate rooms. One with full kitchen (including oven!) and living area with pull-out sofa. The other had a king bed, large closet, and roomy bathroom with sink outside. Breakfast was best hotel buffet I've ever had - and I've traveled a lot. Everything was very tasty, but also vegetarian or organic. Healthy options abound, which is rare. Evening buffet was also very nice. Three free drinks, buffet with snacks and salad. very, very nice.

“The way it should be”

After traveling through Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Lousiana then Texas I found the Habitat Suites a refreshing classy surprise. Delightful. Professional and understated. The breakfast very nice. The staff intelligent and helpful when necessary. I would recommned it highly when staying in the Austin area. Just sorry there are not more of them across the country. They set a fine example of what we should have available. I was a single man..but noticed that couples and families alike were happy and content being there.

“Wonderful Respite”

It's a bit tricky to get to, even using a GPS device. Once there check-in is pleasant, the rooms easy to get to, and it's a relaxing, quiet location in the middle of the city. The room (s) are well thought out to provide affordable opulence. Breakfast is very tasty--many unique options in this "green" hotel.

“Basis”

It's in a somewhat seedy neighborhood, but Habitat Suites itself provides a wonderful respite in the middle of the city. Especially if you have a room facing the courtyard. For the price, what more could you ask for? You get a separate bedroom and living room/kitchen with fireplace. The bed is comfy, the shower has good pressure and volume, and the kitchen appliances work and are clean. The T.V.s are a bit dated, but so what. The wifi works and is free. The free breakfast is the best of any hotel I have stayed in.

“Shabby but clean”

Loved the happy hour and the breakfast buffets. The suite, however, had substandard quality materials, as evidenced by faucet handles coming off in my hand, shower soap dispenser coming off the wall, dishwasher not connected to the kitchen counter so it falls out, etc. But the place is very clean, the staff is very friendly, and the location is convenient for UT (esp. move in day). Major shopping center nearby, but the mall that the hotel is adjacent to is empty. The price was right too. It was like a little, shabby oasis in Austin.

“Our weekend”

My wife and I have been visiting Habitat Suites for over 10 years annually during our anniversary.... It is quiet and relaxing in the middle of a dynamic Austin (day shopping). The almost private pool surrounded by plants and flowers provide an excellent background for the morning breakfasts. Some of the interiors are slightly dated, but the overall experience would be difficult to beat.

“Great find!”

This was a hidden jewel! We loved our stay. The grounds are beautifully planted with a variety of apparent earth-friendly plants. Our suite was huge, clean and comfortable. The staff was warm and friendly. The only things that kept this stay from being a 5 was the lack of plug-ins for all of the electronics. We had to unplug lamps to plug in laptops, recharge cell phones, etc. The other potential negative about this hotel is that it is in an interesting part of town. There were family friendly restaurants, office buildings and rather seedy bars all within a mile of the hotel. This didn't really bother us as the hotel is set back from everything and it doesn't affect the ambiance of the grounds, but I can see where this might be a concern to families with kids running around.

“Pleasant place to stay at”

The rooms are more like small apartments/town-homes, and therefore have a 'home feeling' to it with kitchen, living room, and bedroom with bathroom. It is quite convenient and comfortable, with the shopping mall across the street. Part of the room probably needs more attention and cleaning behind furniture and in the closet. Other than that, this was a pleasant place to stay in for a change of pace.

“Middle of nowhere”

This hotel bills itself as green, with healthy organic food, and that's attractive. Unfortunately, the advertising seems oddly out of sync with the experience. Rooms are standard carbon copy generic hotel rooms with glossy paint and no character. The hotel is way out in the middle of nowhere, across the street from a gigantic mall parking lot, and nothing worthwhile is within walking distance. That means this "green" hotel requires constant use of a car. Although we were in a suite with a kitchen, when I went to the breakfast buffet to get orange juice and cereal for my girlfriend, I was told in crisp terms that I could not remove food from the dining room. Really? When I asked why, I was rudely told it was a liability issue. Really? Service like that left me feeling unwelcome, and for me, that was the final deal breaker.
