“Worth the money”

We felt the hotel was well worth the money. Overall, the staff was very efficient, the room was clean, no waiting to check in and the hot breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

“Updated and comfortable”

The neighborhood is sketchy but the location is convenient to downtown / capitol. Landscaping around the pool screened it from parking lot and felt private. Updated interior made us comfortable. One negative - the hotel didn't provide a bath towel towel for each family member, although we had given correct count on our reservation. And we couldn't get one from the desk. They blamed it on a being completely booked, but I'm not sure how a hotel can run out of bath towels! Travelling with a preteen boy made this a minor problem, but if we'd had a special event it would have been very annoying.

“Nice hotel, but poor attention to maintenance needs”

The hotel was very nicely designed with modern influences. Attention to environmental conservation was obvious. Breakfast every day was delicious and kept us going 'til dinner time. The room was comfortable and pleasent, but the door would not close correctly. Had to insert key & turn handle to close the door handle, then pull tight & check to see that it was locked. Front desk assured that it would be fixed. When we arrived back in the evening, the door was closed, but pushed right open! Fortunately, we had nothing of value in there! Front desk & maintenance dropped the ball on our request for repair. Be careful out there...

“Extras Galore !!!”

Best in offering extras in Austin hotels I visited: - Free computer and printer downstairs. I had to find directions from the hotel to five different locations. Using Google Maps, it was a snap - and printing them out was great. - Morning breakfast bar was open until 10am. An excellent choice to choose from included cereal, waffle, rolls, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, milk. If you like it hot they had it. I'll give them an A+ for breakfast choices. - Large screen lobby TV and morning newspaper was available in large lobby for meeting people and breakfast. It is easy why business travelers choose the Hampton for their stay. - Regarding the location of the Hampton: If driving north on I-35 take the St. John exit, stay on service road, hotel is right past Academy sporting goods store. DO NOT drive past overhead interchange between I-35/290. Easy when you know where to go! Overall: You might stay in a fancier hotel but you won't get more services - just a larger bill.

“enjoyed Hampton Inn except for ther parking lot”

One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was the free parking. There were plenty of empty spaces for me to choose from. The only problem I had was the condition of the parking lot. It was dirty and full of garbage. There were the same Wendy's and Burger King wrappers all over in the same spots of the parking lot all week. There were also a lot of cigarette butts on the parking lot floor. Would this deter me from choosing this hotel again when I return to Austin? Probably not. The free breakfast was great. Sometimes there was still food out past 10am if you overslept and can still grab a quick bite. When we checked in I noticed that the hair dryer in the bathroom was broken. Within 10 minutes they were at my door with a replacement.

The hotel appeared to be newly remodeled and modern.. The breakfast was excellent, and the eating area stylish and very clean. Easy access to the 35 highway.

“Great place to stay in central Austin!”

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I have been extremely pleased with my stay both times. The room was clean, and well equipped and the lobby has been recently rennovated and it's very nice. The hotel is in a good location (about 5 mintues north of UT).

“New visitors”

We were new to the Austin area, and experienced some difficulty understanding the directions given by the desk clerk on how to find the hotel from I 35. Upon arrival around noon, everything was in order and our room was ready. We were most pleased with the morning buffets. There was plenty to serve all patrons. The pool was clean and refreshing. On the last day of our stay our room had been made up, but without new bath towels. Calling the desk, we were told that we could pick them up at the desk, which we did. We never got new towels delivered to the room. I suspect this may be due to low staff levels in the evening hours. In spite of these problems, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel could benefit from tightening up some of these minor failings.
