Nice hotel close to University

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness and friendly employees. Fresh lemon and cucumber iced water. Spacious rooms, bathrooms, and lobby.
Cons: No
Location: Walking distance to university and city. We visited restaurants, state capital, and museums.
We needed a hotel room for 2 adults and 2 teens. This was one hotel that offered two queen beds. Two fulls are hardly large enough. Our hotel was walking distance from the university and the city. All employees we encountered, reservation desk, valets, and cleaning service, were extremely friendly and informative. We stayed Friday evening.

$14.95 for in room internet seemed awfully high. Exercise room was good. Parking a pain.

Nice, conference accommodations are extensive.

Most of the personnel are quite friendly. Had a so-so front desk clerk. As I have special accommodation needs due to my guide dog, he was not very helpful with where I could take my dog to the bathroom around the hotel and had a somewhat offending attitude. Everyone else that I encountered was quite helpful, from the Concierge to the conference staff, to the restaurant servers. Overall and excellent hotel and one I would stay in again!

Superb Hotel and Location

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Just needed a quick overnight stay to get our daughter settled into her college dorm room. The hotel was immaculate and clean, the room had a great view, and the location was the best in Austin (walking to 6th street and other nice locations), and the price we received via Expedia was very competitive.

Good location

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Cons: Room was not as clean as I like, but for one night it was fine.
Location: 6th street is walking distance, 4th street is walking distance. Lots of restuarants and sights to see.
Just stayed one night but was happy with the hotel and its accomodations. Very close to most main attractions downtown.

For the price of the room I couldn't believe it was $26 to park for the night and had to pay for WiFi. No closet in the room and no directory of things to do in the area.

Highly recommended!

Everything about my stay at the Hilton was top-notch. The newly renovated rooms include everything today's traveler could want. My two favorite features were the individual reading lights which pop out of the headboard and the extra plugs built in to the nightstand -- finally a hotel which realizes I'd like to keep my phone and iPad plugged in and near the bed. The hotel location couldn't be better. Once I parked my car I didn't touch it again until I checked out. We walked to restaurants for all our meals. We also took a 2-mile walk to the lake to do a little paddle boarding. Plenty of parking nearby if you prefer to drive and kayaking is also available. Although I didn't try the MetroRail, there is a station right next to the hotel, giving you great access to prime locations.

We got a newly remodeled room which we were the first ones to stay in which was great. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain and we called guest services and someone came asap to fix the problem. Lots of plugs around the room which was good because it was four of us to a room and having to charge our phone, plug in our hair dryers and straightener was convenient. Also the rooms are modernized now and which just one click on the keypad by the bed you can turn off all the lights without having to get up. Will definitely be staying here again!

Great location, clean room but expect noise

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: sound proofing - noisy hallways
Location: 6th street
This hotel is in the perfect location for experienceing Austin and in particular 6th street. Easy walk to night life and good places to eat. Because it is so close to 6th street the guests are also there to party and it can get quite noisy while they return home to call it a night. I would stay there again but for no longer than 3 nights.
