“Great Place for Just the two of you”

We checked into the hotel on the last day of 2011 to celebrate the beginning of 2012 and right from the start we felt really well taken care of by the valet. It is a bit pricey ($26) but the car was always brought around quickly for us and taken care of. The staff who checked us in and out were extremely friendly and helpful. One lady in particular offered us help on finding a local restaurant and even gave us advice on avoiding traffic. We ordered two glasses of champagne right before midnight and they arrived extremely fast! The shower was nice and the bed was hard, but oddly comfortable.

“penthouse suite on 17th floor”

Great location and and room was very nice. We were on the 17th floor looking at the capitol. It was like having a penthouse suite. The breakfast on the 18th floor and the bar was excellent. Loved it. I don't this we could have stayed at a better place.

“Staff friendly and gracious, eager to serve”

Room was equal to rooms I have stayed in more expensive hotels. Staff was especially friendly and gracious, eager to serve. One misstep was I left a wake up request that didn't get made. Other than that, the price was very competitive with surrounding hotels.

“A wonderful tourist headquarters in Austin”

Staff members wew very friendly to guests. They were familiar with Austin places of interest. Helpful with suggestions and directions within the city. I had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend Hilton Garden Inn to all travelers. The location was convenient and easy walking to other restaurants and entertainment sites. The restaurant on the 18th floor gave a beautiful view of the city.

“Overall nice hotel”

The woman who was regularly at the front desk, Astrid, was extremely helpful and accommodating. The rooms where nice, and the hotel was in a great location, very close to shopping, restaraunts, and bars. We really enjoyed our stay in Austin. My only complaint would be that the hotel charges you to keep a car there, we didn't have a car, but it could get expensive if you do.

“lots to like”

This older property has bee upgraded effectively. The room and bed are comfortable and pleasing. The breakfast buffet is quite good and would be worth the price ($12.95) just for the superb view from the 18th floor. The bathrooms are small, but entirely adequate. The pool is a joke, but not essential to a pleasant stay. The parking ($26/day) is effeciently handled by an excellent valet staff.

“Highly recommended!”

After staying here late July 2012, I can honestly say I'm not sure why there are so many lukewarm / negative reviews of this hotel. It was exactly what we needed and expected. It was clean, personnel were courteous, room was nice with large-screen TV. Several reviewers have complained about the $26 valet parking, but this charge can easily be avoided by parking in several nearby parking garages or at parking meters for less than half that price. The hotel has a great location, very close to many downtown Austin hot-spots. We were so pleased with this hotel! Would definitely stay here again.
