Great Location

Pros: The staff was always very helpful and friendly.
Location: 6th Street - live bands, The State Capital has a free tour guide, SoCo District, Lady Bird Lake - walking trail, kayaks, Barton Springs.
The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown is in a great location; at the beginning of 6th Street, the Live Music Capital. The State Capital and many great restaurants are also within walking distance. The staff was both extremely helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Not nice

A) be aware of vallet only $30 parking B) first room I was given had such strong smoke smell, I had to ask for another. The other one was a bit better, but still smelled like smoke and "old" C) restaurant is terrible (choices, no one behind the bar, or around). Given how the rest of the downtown hotels are, and how many restaurants are around - it's unacceptable D) bathroom was not cleaned properly - water rusty color, not draining. Lastly, they have 100% satisfaction guarantee signs all over, but really?

Great Valet Service

I only stayed one night. Had a dinner with some friends and didn't want to drive all the way back to Killeen. I had my son when I checked in and the valet helped me out tremendously. I really appreciated it. Two year olds can be difficult to travel with. Thank you for being so accommodating.

Pros: Convenience, great views
Cons: Valet parking only, no self park, is too expensive based on the fact you spend a lot to stay there.
Location: You're literally right on 6th street an the freeway so lots of restaurants and clubs in walking distance.
Great staff, beautiful hotel. Very convenient to everything downtown and convenient to other parts of the city due to proximity to the freeway

Helpful staff and very comfortable room.

We arrived late and needed help finding a restaurant we were to meet friends. The staff was so very helpful. The 18th floor late night bar was so relaxing and the appetizer menu was full of delicious choices. Our room was perfect, comfortable bed and everything you would need for a perfect stay. Breakfast on the 18th floor offered many choices in fruits, pastries and delicious main choices. The staff always checked to see if everything was okay. Would always chose this hotel if staying near this area.

i was welcomed by the shift manager on duty and the check in process was very quick and smooth. hotel staff were attentive and very nice. hotel is in a great location and physically nice.

Location: Good location, but I wish i made my reservation at Mariott, closer to downtown
The room stank, whenever AC worked, as if stenche came out of it. The in one place stank like vomit. It was checked by the hotel management and I was promissed to be moved to another room. Din't happen. I complained again and was discounted one night. At least. Mandatory valet parking - I don't like that and didn't know about it when I was making reservation on expedia. The restaurant and restauran employees were very nice though.
