Beautiful hotel near UT Austin campus

The Hotel Ella is a beautiful hotel near the UT Austin campus. It is quiet, clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated---not over done. We enjoyed a very delicious, well priced, nutritious breakfast and the service was lovely.

Excellent Hotel and Restaurant

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Location, restaurant, comfort of the room
Cons: ?
Location: There were restaurants near by, but we had a car so were able to get around. This was close to the campus so was very vibrant in the evening.
Our experience was a very positive one. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar were excellent as well. Room service was prompt and courteous. I would definitely stay again.

Hidden gem in Austin.

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Everything: staff, breakfasts, cleanliness of rooms.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: UT is close by.
Staff was terrific. Coffee was some of the best I ever had. (Asked front desk where they got it, and they gave me the address of the local roaster.) Rooms are sufficiently large and immaculate. Gym was small, but had full set of weights. Highly recommend this hotel for short or long stays in Austin.

Boutique Hotel near the cultural center of Austin

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Absolutely everything.
Cons: I did not have the opportunity to dine in the restaurant and cannot comment at this time.
Location: The hotel is located near museums, the University of Texas and government buildings. Everything you'd want is located near by.
One of the most delightful experiences you will have traveling begins from the moment you arrive at Hotel Ella and are greeted by a smiling valet team. The staff are truly genuine when they say "welcome" upon your arrival. The customer service was superb and the front desk staff helpful. My room was appointed beautifully and like an oasis in the middle of the city. There was a small patio overlooking the courtyard and pool. The beauty of this hotel and the staff made this a comfortable and quality respite from busy business - meeting filled days. The room was glorious, the staff was professional, helpful, courteous and displayed top notch customer service each and every day. Most importantly, I felt pampered and special. There is no question I will return and recommend to colleagues and friends.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff.

Great experience. Stayed for a night on business travel. Attentive but not overbearing staff checked us in and led us to our rooms. Loved it! Beautiful, well appointed space with original artwork, and classy furnishings.Fresh bottled water by the bedside was nice detail. Wonderful parlor and bar with wifi where I hung out with glass of wine and a plate of fresh fruit and cheeses. The next day, I had wonderful breakfast in the hotel restaurant- egg white omelette with fresh sourdough bread. Would definitely stay again.

Outstanding service in an historic building

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Primarily, the staff service. Secondarily, the physical charm of the facility. Despite being on a busy street, the rooms were extraordinarily quiet.
Location: Walk or ride a bike straight down the hill and you are at the river's edge where bike and walking paths abound. Or you can walk to the state capital.
We were greeted by the bell captain the moment we pulled up into the semi circle driveway. Luggage was unloaded and after a quick check in, bags were delivered promptly to our rooms. We wanted to ride bikes and the hotel provided them and helmets, free of charge for the 3 of us. Also complimentary bottled water for our ride. They made sure the tires were filled adequately and seat heights adjusted for each of us. So much nicer than going to a bike shop, etc. Also, we requested a different room for our second night, after our daughter left. We were upgraded to a junior suite with view of the pool for no extra charge. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was excellent, if a bit pricey. Overall, a wonderful experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Ella to anyone. Its location is a bit off the beaten track, which is wonderful. Better than staying in the super high-rise downtown hotel wasteland.

Casual & elegant in-town experience

Posted Apr 30, 2015
Our second stay at this lovely boutique hotel. We prefer a room in the main hotel/house - junior suite. Bath size & walkout balcony & seating & city view is worth extra. Fitness Center is modest but fine. Hotel's Bar & Restaurant are excellent. Menu is sourced locally - cocktails are original. Valet greeters friendly & efficient.

Perfectly located for the university

Posted Apr 2, 2015
Cons: Purely personal but a shower cap would have been great.
Modernity mixed with old elegance and with the most impressive staff. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and the idea of a car available to take within a 3 mile radius was heaven.

great location for scoping out UT austin

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: really friendly and helpful staff--good wine by the glass
Cons: carpet in room was smelly with carpet cleaner--ambiance of actual room pales in comparison to awesome main house
Location: stayed there so we could check out UT Austin with daughter--you can walk to campus
very friendly and helpful staff...gorgeous outside areas to lounge and sit...comfy beds and lux baths...pretty tasty food but not a lot to choose from
