Exceptional Service

This hotel has an exceptionally helpful staff. Businesses that advertise their "service" rarely impress me, but the Omni in Austin did.

Enjoyed my stay!

Pros: Indoor outdoor pool, with work out facility and hot tub
Cons: The room service menu was nice but they did not offer any pastas or pizza.
Location: It is right off the express way, 1 mile from a Walmart and 15 min from the convention center and 6 street.
We are a family of 3, we enjoyed the indoor / outdoor pool. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very basic but clean. They did install a small fridge and microwave per our request. The internet was 10 dollars per day, but if you signed up for the omni rewards program (which was free) you got the 10 dollars waived. We will consider staying with them again on our next trip to Austin. P.S. The local Walmart was within a mile and we were about 15min from the Austin convention center.

Good value for price

Pros: Nice heated pool
Cons: Wifi access - It never worked on my android tablet even after spending 30 minutes on the phone with technical support
Location: Near the interstate, you must use your car to go to other locations as nothing is in walking distance of the hotel
I rented a room in this hotel for a week long vacation in Texas. Upon arrival, there was a complimentary bottle of wine in my room, which made for a special touch. The room was clean and comfortable, I also enjoyed the heated pool and free coffee every morning. Austin is a great city and I had rented a car, which is a must because this hotel is not located downtown or near any activities. One negative about the hotel is that I had quite a bit of trouble using the wifi both in my room and in the lobby. Apparently, it was because all my devices run on android and their internet connection has trouble with android. Eventually, I did get it to work on my cell phone, but never on my tablet. Otherwise, this hotel was good value for the money I spent.

Omni

Very nice...friendly staff. The location is right off of the highway and we needed a cab to go downtown. The hotel provided a free shuttle because the cabs were taking too long

Great hotel near airport

Comfortable hotel with great accommodations. Large indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness area. Friendly staff that provided excellent dining recommendations. Very close to airport and 10 minutes drive to Congress. Two thumbs way up!

Good location

I needed a hotel close to UT Austin so that I didn't have to hassle with I-35 congestion in the morning.

Not worth the price, terrible experience for price

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: The inside looks nice
Cons: I want the money I spent on a taxi back, check-in time, and there should have been some added bonus for them being late
Location: Red's Porch is where we had eaten lunch earlier in the day.
I had called around noon to put our name in for an early check-in. I showed up before 3 and found out my name was never added to the list. They added me to their so called list, but once 3pm hit they were still not ready for us or many people who also had a room reserved. We didn't get a room until almost 4:00pm and we had a shuttle to catch at 4:45pm for a wedding.... which by the way we missed because of this hotel. We ended up having to pay for a cab out of pocket, which cost us about $70 dollars.

Didn't have room ready

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Cons: When a guest has a reservation, have the room available for them--as they expect.
We arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm to check in, but were told that our room would not be ready for close to an hour. We had to get ready and be at an event in an hour, so we had to call around and locate another hotel close by that had rooms available immediately. I understand that some things are beyond the control of the person working the front desk, but the demeanor of the woman we spoke with was not at all concerned with the inconvenience that the room fiasco was causing their reservation-holding guests. Very unimpressed with this hotel!
