Very close to ABIAPosted Sep 11, 2014
Booked this hotel since we had an early flight and is close to the airport. I think it took us about 7 minutes without traffic to drive too. I will stay here again when flying out of Austin. I didn't have the time but I definitely wanted to swim in that gigantic pool! Maybe next time.

Paper thin walls, close to highwayPosted Sep 11, 2014
The hotel itself was nice and pretty clean. The bed was comfortable and the room was dark at night. Only problem: paper thin walls, and it's next into a highway.

Nice, but service could be better.Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: We liked the cleanliness of the renovated rooms.
Cons: Attention to details would be helpful along with a better understanding of customer service.
Location: It's a little tricky to get to it. Plan on passing it and then taking the next exit only to make a U-Turn and go back to it.
My husband and I got a rare weekend away from our two very young children when we visited Austin for a birthday party. We selected the Omni and booked a room. We then later discovered they do NOT honor any Select Guest member benefits when booking from a third party site. We kept our reservation anyway. We ordered breakfast from the small door hanger, put it on the door knob the night before, and went to bed. We were looking forward to a leisurely breakfast in bed, except it NEVER CAME. They forgot it. The door hanger was still sitting there on the knob at 7:30 a.m. I called the front desk. They said it was room service's fault. Then room service blamed someone else. Basically the staff all blamed someone else on the staff. They offered us a discount on the to-go food in the lobby gift shop which we politely declined. Strangely, no one apologized. It seems like something small. But that was a big deal for us; a luxury we've not had in ages. It is those little personal touches that keep us returning to a hotel. Those simple points of good service are what get our repeat business. I doubt we will ever return to this one.

Better than most five star hotels!Posted Sep 7, 2014
Cons: Self closing doors to shut quieter on rooms, wakes you up when others arise early!
Location: Great location for access to all connecting highways and nearby shopping! Plenty of night life in town for a small taxi fare if not driving!
This is my third visit and I cannot fault tho Omni at South Park Austin, Texas, great staff very friendly and helpful, fantastic facilities, gym, pool, etc., connected Onion Creek Restaurant if you want a meal. Little things like complimentary water or an apple on exit and free papers to your room, the list goes on, very clean and towels galore around the pool and in your room with nice to use shampoo and body wash, the list goes on. Will always stay if I am in the area, it is only ten minutes in the car to drive to the city centre down Congress. They allow dogs and cats, just like home.

Clean hotel, nice rooms, friendly staffPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Nice furniture and decor in the room, and little details like a separate bath mat for the bathroom sink.
Location: The location is in an office park, so you'll need to drive to get to sites and restaurants of interest.
I stayed here on an off-peak night and the price was right. The location is convenient to south Austin in particular, though not far from downtown. It's right next to two major highways so the views aren't anything to write home about, but the hotel is well-kept and the staff were very friendly.

Nice hotel close to South Congress and South LamarPosted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Free Parking
Location: South Congress and Zilker Park are 10 min away
Nice place....best thing is FREE parking! That is the biggest issue when staying at properties near Downtown- Parking your vehicle should NOT be an expense.

Close to downtownPosted Sep 2, 2014
As always the Omni Hotel facilities were great. The location is very good too if you do not mind driving about 10 minutes from downtown. The only fault I found was with the hotel staff. I had reserved 5 rooms for people and when we arrived, they told us the rooms would not be ready until 6 pm! This was unacceptable. When we asked another staff member what was going on, they managed to give us two of the rooms but still had to wait until about 8:30 pm until the other rooms were available. Very disappointed by this.

Labor Day relaxation.Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Pool. Breakfast buffet.
Cons: Bell person have focus on arriving guests with carts ready, helping direct traffic instead of sitting at desk. Friday night about 9:00 pm on Labor Day
Location: Downtown Austin, capital tour, museums, college football, restaurants to explore, Colorado river, Barton Springs.
We arrived and checked in quickly. Once I had room key, I had to ask where luggage carts were located. Bell person got one out of locked room and began helping loading luggage. She was friendly and very polite. However, she seemed little nervous when talking and made several blunders in speaking. Very nice though. Saturday we returned to go swimming and pool was closed because of needing chemical treatment. Seems there was some unexpected cleaning required. Manager and others apologized and offered alternative swimming area. Once in room relaxing, we noticed very intense cleaner smell in hall just outside of our room. Found housekeeping doing some major cleaning of janitor closet, with no concern for all guests on that floor. Again management apologized and immediately put stop to housekeeping work in hall janitor closet. Breakfast at restaurant with buffet was fairly priced and tasted great. We did finally enjoy great pool and comfortable room. We would stay there again. Hopefully less cleaning interruption and more relaxing in room and pool.

Omni-SouthparkPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: big room and clean room
Cons: decent wi-fi speed breakfast included in room rate
Location: Located where the 35 and 71 freeways cross, so easy to get on the freeway. It wasn't too far from South Congress Avenue, but one needs a car.
*Arrived into the lobby, at the check-in desk, to find a leaking roof and towels on the floor to catch the water. It wasn't raining. *The reception clerk was very friendly and provided a speedy check in and check out. *Room was a nice size, but very cold inside and I couldn't figure out how to turn down the air although I pressed buttons on the control. So, I just turned it off. *No breakfast buffet included in room rate. I was only staying at the Omni as I was there to meet someone who had booked into that particular hotel. *Wi-fi was beyond slow and cost $9.95 per 24-hour log on.
