A real treat

Posted Jan 27, 2015
We simply chose this hotel for a last minute trip to Austin without much look into the hotel. We were astonded at the beauty of even the drive into the hotel! It has an amazing view, gorgeous scenery, and the nicest staff I have ever experienced. We were sad to only stay one night and plan to return for a longer stay so we can take advantage of all the amenities it has to offer!

Pros: Inside pool, & activities
Location: Nice little deli (grocery store) 2 blocks away for a cheaper but fast way to eat near by. Longhorn Cavern was an hour away which was nice for us!
Loved it! Inside pool was great for cooler weather!

Pros: Staff
Cons: The restaraunt is over priced and food marginal
Location: Walking paths - not much around the venue which was not an issue
Perfect location excellent staff - make sure to get vouchers for coffee at the on site starbucks when checking in.

Not too happy

Posted Dec 12, 2014
I struggled to modify our reservation. Too much time wasted on the phone. Then they still made a mistake. No apologies. We paid cash at 1812 and they charged it to our room. We got it refunded. Got home and it was again charged to my credit card. We were charged for mini bar purchases that we did not make again issued refunds. We were there for so little time to be wasting fighting for things like this. It was terrible. 2 hours on the phone to change the reservation. Another 1 hour straightening our bill out after we returned home. Our lamp in our room didn't work and the room was very dark. The walls need to be painted because they are really marked up and the hallway carpets need a really good cleaning. I note the cleanliness and broken lamp because Barton Creek is not a cheap hotel. It is a high end resort. I would not recommend anyone stay here. Go to the Hyatt. They have beautiful resorts in the area and I've never had a problem with reservations, room charges and cleanliness.

Great hotel in a beautiful location

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: My room was very nice - lean and comfortable with a great view.
Cons: Do not change anything! Maybe some robes as an option.
Location: One World theater is very close. I will be staying here every time I come to a concert. Great steak houses are nearby, also.
Next time I will play golf!. Great breakfast and a very nice staff. Everyone treated us like royalty. So sorry I did not take advantage of dinner.

Perfect Weekend

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Location and views
Location: Close to Austin area attractions and great restaurants within 15 minute drive.
The views were amazing from the rooms on the higher floors. I’m looking forward to return back during the summer months. The beauty of the area makes you feel like you are far away from Texas. The resort was clean and quiet. Slept comfortably, ate well, and easily accessible to everything else Austin has to offer. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend getaway.

Nice spot to relax

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Great staff!
Cons: TVs in rooms - need HD
If you like hiking, spa, and golf this is a great spot (20 mins outside downtown Austin) to wind down. However, rooms are a bit dated and the TVs are not HD. Staff was super friendly and service was excellent!
