Great facilities just outside of Austin.

Great overall experience, but Omni has missed the mark on the little touches that make the overall experience perfect. For example, the dated act of charging for water in the room shows a little "we got you" mentality because the hotel is a drive from the nearest store. Other than that the golf course is great, but the hotel is about ready for its first update and Omni should invest in this little gem.

Good Location for golf and visiting Westlake area

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Staff needs to "sweep" the halls more frequently to pickup leftover trays placed in the hallways outside the room doors. Just too many for too long.
Nice "resort" hotel with a good location for golf and visiting the Westlake, Lake Travis area around Austin. 10-15 minutes to downtown, 6th street and Barton Springs. Hotel is an older facility that is well maintained. Pool area is excellent. Staff needs to "sweep" the halls more frequently to pickup room service food trays. Bell stand staff/ valet parking staff are wonderful. I would recommend this hotel but it will soon face more competition from new hotels under construction nearby. I would expect their room rates will need to adjust to the changing situation. If you are a golfer then this is the place to be as the four courses are well done.

It was very nice.

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: The golf, the food and the staff in the hotel was amazing
Cons: The help in the pro shop was somewhat irritating. We were rained out and asked for towels and were told they had some nice ones to buy
We had a few problems... The first night the sewer backed up in one of the sinks and the toilet ran all night. Told the desk about those issues and they fixed them...the central air never really worked...felt sticky all night and was either too hot or too cold with the temp remaining the same

Very scenic with incredible views. Friendly staff with lots to do on the property. An older crowd and a little way out from the city, but excellent place to getaway.

Weekend in Austin

Posted Apr 8, 2015 on Hotels
Weekend stay with extended family. Was looking for a resort feel hotel with Texas flair. The hotel did have resort feel, but lacking in the Texas flair experience. Felt very much like an Omni. Overall, hotel could use a bit of a facelift, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing and went out of the way to be pleasant, helpful and accommodating, The scenery was beautiful, spa was lovely and on site shops were upscale. Did not try any of the restaurants.
