An outstanding get away

The Barton Creek area is gorgeous, the hotel is so classy and full of beautiful views. The spa is very good and the food at the dining was excellent. The room was clean, with extraordinary views at every corner. A relaxing experience I recommend.

Beautiful resort in beautiful area

Posted Feb 22, 2015
We barely spent time at the resort so i couldnt give the best description, but what we saw was beautiful. You have to walk really far if the parking gets full, which was a negative and valet is expensive. We also had to walk pretty far to get to our room because of the hotel layout. I may seem like a lazy person, i'm not i'm a runner, but it was a bit too much walking for what was supposed to be a nice, relaxing stay. On the plus size the beds were amazingly comfortable!

Nice hotel in a beautiful setting

Posted Feb 22, 2015
We liked the hotel neighborhood very much and enjoyed our stay with the baby there. Hotel strengths: - convenient location to downtown Austin - seafood in the bar was just great (although would not recommend steak from there) - nature setting, multiple jogging/strolling paths - very nice views - spacious rooms - resort atmosphere Omni Barton areas for improvements: - room facilities (when booking we were promised a bassinet in the room. In fact it was not available during our stay. Hotel staff brought us baby safety mat instead. The mat was very old with scratched and holes in it. - bathtub was very old with cracks and patches - dirty bathroom (e.g. hairs all over the place) - spa center was not clean enough and convenient (e.g. there were no towels in the swimming pool, pool water was murky, only one shower for those visiting the pool, dirty steam room area ) - we were charge a resort fee on check-out, even though they did not tell us about that when booking

A real treat

We simply chose this hotel for a last minute trip to Austin without much look into the hotel. We were astonded at the beauty of even the drive into the hotel! It has an amazing view, gorgeous scenery, and the nicest staff I have ever experienced. We were sad to only stay one night and plan to return for a longer stay so we can take advantage of all the amenities it has to offer!

Pros: Inside pool, & activities
Location: Nice little deli (grocery store) 2 blocks away for a cheaper but fast way to eat near by. Longhorn Cavern was an hour away which was nice for us!
Loved it! Inside pool was great for cooler weather!

Pros: Staff
Cons: The restaraunt is over priced and food marginal
Location: Walking paths - not much around the venue which was not an issue
Perfect location excellent staff - make sure to get vouchers for coffee at the on site starbucks when checking in.

Not too happy

Posted Dec 12, 2014
I struggled to modify our reservation. Too much time wasted on the phone. Then they still made a mistake. No apologies. We paid cash at 1812 and they charged it to our room. We got it refunded. Got home and it was again charged to my credit card. We were charged for mini bar purchases that we did not make again issued refunds. We were there for so little time to be wasting fighting for things like this. It was terrible. 2 hours on the phone to change the reservation. Another 1 hour straightening our bill out after we returned home. Our lamp in our room didn't work and the room was very dark. The walls need to be painted because they are really marked up and the hallway carpets need a really good cleaning. I note the cleanliness and broken lamp because Barton Creek is not a cheap hotel. It is a high end resort. I would not recommend anyone stay here. Go to the Hyatt. They have beautiful resorts in the area and I've never had a problem with reservations, room charges and cleanliness.
