Walking distance from University Texas is good. Bus connection to downtown is good. Much traffic noice. Breakfast was poor, breakfast room very small.

I was working near the LBJ Library, and the hotel's location was very convenient for that. The rates were reasonable, the room was clean, and the staff was pleasant. The TV was staticky during my entire visit—I was told that the cable company was transitioning from analog to digital—and breakfast was skimpy. There are not many services immediately around the hotel, but restaurants can be found by going around the perimeter of the UT campus.

good location, but very old hotel

Posted Nov 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel staff very nice and helpful. Very good access to DT from hotel. Hotel is very close to Hwy, so at night it gets very noisy there. Overall this is good place to stay, but be aware that this is an old hotel.

Great location

The staff was excellent, very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel itself is pretty old and as such is a bit outdated. The room was clean and comfortable but the neighborhood itself is a bit questionable (would not walk around in the dark of night). I think the only real thing that I had an issue with is that I had no idea that it faces I-35 with no sound barrier so it was a little loud at night. The biggest upside to this was the location as it was just about a half mile away from the football stadium. So we just parked went to the game, then came back to the room before going to 6th street which incidentally was only about a $7.00 cab ride.

had to turn the AC up high to tolerate the mold smell. The carpet and floors were sticky.

Unnecessary deposit

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Near UT campus
Cons: Paint and no extra deposit
Location: Near highway and next to nothing convenient
It was OK but very dated. Could use some fresh paint. Didn't appreciate the additional deposit of $50 that is held for 72 hours of which takes a week to return.

Worst Hotel Stay Ever!

Posted Oct 2, 2014
Pros: I liked how close this hotel was to the UT campus notwithstanding that it's literally on a highway.
The owner of this hotel offers the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I have no idea how she runs a business in this manner. She tried charging me more for a non-smoking room when my online reservation was incorrect. When I questioned her about the fee, considering that the hotel website does not differentiate between smoking and non-smoking room rates, she locked me out of my room and then refused to speak with me. Needless to say, I checked out of the hotel 2 days early because I no longer felt safe there. Do yourself a favor and run!
