“Good hotel, great rate for families!”

The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from Downtown Austin. We arrived late and everything was ready for us. They offer complementary breakfast, and it was pretty good. We felt in a safe place.. The attendants are very nice and helpful. It is a good place to stay with family or friends and they have very good rates if you book in advance.

I had reservations that we wouldn't be treated as well because we had booked through Expedia but we were treated just like everyone else. The front desk staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. It was really nice having the breakfast every morning although they could have mixed it up a bit instead of the exact same thing every day, i.e. sausage patties and egg rounds, maybe scrambled eggs and bacon? The room was spacious enough and well laid out, clean and comfortable. We plan to visit Austin again and we'll definitely stay there!!

“My Home In Austin”

It was a great stay and I will go back. The only thing I had a problem with is that there was a young basketball team there and they did make too much noise. BUT, that is not the fault of the hotel. When it was time for me to sleep, I had no problems!

My experience with the Springhill Suites was excellent. Found a room readily despite the massive influx of travelers to Austin on this particular weekend (SXSW). The hotel is just far away enough to avoid any and all of the hustle and bustle from downtown, but meanwhile provides easy access to I-35. Friendly staff; clean facilities, including pool; clean, comfortable, and roomy suites. Only complaint: at check-in I was asked how the charges would be handled, despite booking through Expedia. I was asked for a credit card for incidentals, and ensured that I wouldn't be charged through this card for my accommodations. However, much to my dismay, I was charged again, despite my explicit clarification to the attendant that my reservation was handled by Expedia. Aggravating! A pleasant experience nonetheless.

“Hotel of the Future?”

Springhill Suites Austin North is easily worth its three stars. When can one feel warmly about a hotel after staying two nights and seeing only two employees the whole time -- the desk clerk and the breakfast room attendant? When architect, management and staff have done everything right, leaving no need to complain! The room was perfectly maintained, and there was no knock on the door to clean it up. Even the one awkwardness in suite --the dresser on which the TV sits in the doorway between the two rooms-- will soon be gone as flat panels on the walls replace the TV and the dresser is moved. There were towels at the pool and exercise room, and the self-service breakfast was fabulous! Come to think of it, twenty strangers making their breakfasts at the same time in the same place --and enjoying it-- is a remarkable achievement.
