“Very impressed”

One word sums up our stay at The Driskell... perfection. Gorgeous 18th century hotel completely restored to it's original condition. Superb service. Exquisite decor in our room as well as throughout the hotel. Well worth paying a bit more to stay in a place that is a part of history.

The hotel is beautiful! My only warning is that the term "European bath" in a room means "Extremely small". The staff (especially the valets) were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

I've had prior bad experiences with historic hotels that felt old, dark and musty. However, this hotel has all the character and charm of a historic structure, but with all the luxury and amenities of a newer hotel.

What a wonderful experience we had staying at the Driskill. From the moment we stepped out of the car, through the time of our checkout every thing was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room-although a wee bit small, was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The feel of 'Cattle Baron' elegance was everywhere you went from the fabulous Grand lobby bar to the timeless 1886 restaurant, to the artwork lining the walls of every floor. I would very much recomend this hotel, and look forward to going back and reliving the experience.

if you're looking for a place to stay right in the center of the entertainment distrct and within easy walking distance of the Capitol, this is it. The hotel is neat and clean and professionally staffed. It is in easy walking distance of bars and restaurants galore, the local transportation, the Capital and even UT.

The thing that makes or break a good hotel really is how much detail is paid towards creating an atmosphere of luxury through lighting and the right upholstry and interior decoration. The Driskill nailed it. That and people were always really really polite really really helps.

Hotel is center in the heart of sixth street. Easy walking distance to the Capital and Warehouse 4th street location. The hotel is a little too dark inside and the best restrauants are located outside of hotel in Austin.
