"Excellent Point of Departure to Downtown Austin"
My wife and I stayed overnight at the Hyatt Regency and were pleased by all its aspects. The staff was knowledgeable of the surrounding festivities and locales, and generally any place worth visiting in Downtown Austin. The room was perfectly agreeable, commodious and sanitary. I would recommend this hotel to any family and friends intent on wandering around the hotspots of Austin, while also insistent on returning to a pleasant overnight stay between daytime adventures.

    Austin Hotel Guide

Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center (formally Westcave Preserve) - “Prepare yourself - the majestic beauty of our unique Texas Hill Country nature preserve will leave you breathless! Our expert-guided tours take visitors from an arid savannah through a limestone crevice into a sheltered canyon of lush plant life. At the head of the canyon stands Westcave, with a stunning 40-foot waterfall replenishing the emerald pool below.”

State Capitol -“If it's in Texas, it must be bigger and better. That is the motto that architects followed with the Capitol Building in Austin. At one time, it was the tallest capitol building in the nation. Others might be taller now, but this is still a beautiful building that shows off many of the natural resources which are so prevalent in Texas, such as limestone and the landscapes.”

Located in mideastern Texas, the capitol city of Austin was originally known as Waterloo. Settled by German, Swedish, and Mexican immigrants, the city grew as the railroad system was introduced. In 1886, the Driscoll Hotel became the first Austin hotel to accommodate visitors to the area. After a fire destroyed the building, the space was determined to be the site for a new structure that would be the Capitol building. During this time, hotels in Austin TX began to be commonplace.
