"Un-planned business travel"
I had a last minute business meeting. I arrived late at the hotel. Check-in was easy and quick. As I waited for an associate to arrive, the bartender let me know the bar would be closing soon (in minutes). I was thankful that the bartender let me know BEFORE he closed and not waited for a few minutes to only inform me the bar had just closed!

"A Great Hotel!"
My husband and I went to Austin for the first time. After the long ride, we arrived at the Omni. The service was impeccable from the moment that we stepped out of our car. Our room was great, however, there was a wedding party across from us, so we asked to be moved. Guest services, not only accommodated us, but went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. We travel a lot...but this is one of the best hotels that we have stayed at in a very long time. Thank you Omni Staff for making my birthday w eekend memorable!

"Great downtown location, friendly staff"
We spent 5 days in Austin at the Hyatt Place Hotel and were so pleased with our experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, happy and helpful. Every time we walked in or out we got a friendly greeting and an offer to help. The rooms are clean and spacious and well appointed with a desk, good lighting and sitting area (besides the regular stuff). The breakfasts were great - although I would have liked to have a variety and I wasn't sure if I could order something different or if the buffet was all that was offered. The snacks and drinks in the lobby were very convenient and if that wasn't enough there is a gourmet grocery store right across the street. The hotel is close to 6th street bars and restaurants and the bridge to see the local curiosity of the bats that fly out en masse at dusk.

"Excellent downtown hotel in Austin, Texas"
Unfortunately, the first room I was given was very quiet when I first checked in; however, shortly after retiring, I heard a loud air-conditioning noise. As well, the room was right across the hall from the ice-machine. I immediately called the front desk and requested to be moved, which they promptly did; however, the inconvenience of this incident was a bit disturbing. Have no complaints with the rest of this great hotel.

    Where to stay in Austin:

    Austin Hotel Guide

Located in mideastern Texas, the capitol city of Austin was originally known as Waterloo. Settled by German, Swedish, and Mexican immigrants, the city grew as the railroad system was introduced. In 1886, the Driscoll Hotel became the first Austin hotel to accommodate visitors to the area. After a fire destroyed the building, the space was determined to be the site for a new structure that would be the Capitol building. During this time, hotels in Austin TX began to be commonplace.
