"Nice Hotel Near Anime Convention (IkkiCon)"
We were originally arriving from Dallas very early, in order to explore the city of Austin, but were inconveniently stopped by the pouring rain, and were stuck in a car at 2am. Fortunately, after calling our Expedia agent, the hotel staff was very lenient, and instead of checking in at 3pm the next day, we were able to check in at 4am instead with no extra charges, other than the parking-- which wasn't too awful. To our amazement, the club room we had checked in to was very clean, the view of the city was marvelous, and the beds were perfect enough to wake up to a beautiful first day of an Anime Convention only half a mile away. All the accommodations we wonderful throughout our stay on top of that, with an indoor and outdoor pool, a very clean fitness center, and a very unique club room lounge feeling. Basically, instead of going to the Anime convention, we ended up staying at the hotel for more than half of our stay in Austin, because it was soo great and comfortable.

"Wonderful visit!"
We were in Austin for the governor's inauguration-everyone everywhere was busy! We needed to check in early because one of the people in our party became ill. The staff helped get us checked in easily, made sure our room was ready and comfortable, and made sure we were aware of the amenities the hotel had to offer. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and to be honest, it was some of the best food I have ever had!

In 1886, the Driscoll Hotel became the first Austin hotel to accommodate visitors to the area. After a fire destroyed the building, the space was determined to be the site for a new structure that would be the Capitol building. During this time, hotels in Austin TX began to be commonplace.
