Never to return.....even if it was for free!!

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was reasonably priced and also very good
Cons: Don't have enough time.
Location: Nothing.
Don't let the word RESORT fool you, like it did me!! Had to purchase two toothbrushes from resort as well as two cups of coffee on a.m. The resort was freezing cold, the pillows were like sleeping on hard clump balls. Stayed at Holiday Inn in Mentor-on-the-Lake back in August 2014. Delicious complimentary coffee and iced lemon water in lobby, as well as complimentary toothbrushes AND toothpaste. Also at the Holiday Inn in Mentor-on-the-Lake, rooms were extremely clean and pillows were soooo comfortable!!! I would never return to Quail Hollow Resort ever again.

Stinky room

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Lobby and outside very nice
Cons: Wash the linens before each guest arrives and freshen the pillows. Everything smelled like sweat. Febreeze is available I am should be used!
Location: Visited Lake Erie College
The outside and lobby were beautiful - the room smelled. Very unpleasant odor of sweat and used linens. Bathroom was dirty, mold on the wall and floor. Not enough creamer/condiments for the coffee. Went to lobby to ask for more - very unwilling to pass on extra. Will never stay here again.

Old and Tired

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The staff
Cons: It needs to be completely redone.
The resort is now 50 yearsold and is worn out. Everyone of the wingback chairs in the main dinning room has the stuffing comming out od the riped arms. This did not happen yesterday they had to be this way for a long time. Our room which was ten feet from the parking lot had no shear drapes. You had to either keep the drapes open and have everyone wlaking by look in your window or close the blackout drapes in the middle of the day. You can find a number of hotels in the area in much better shape. The staf in the resturant was outstanding and they had up for any other shortcommings in the resturant

Pleasant surprise.

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Large, clean rooms at great price.
Location: Not a whole lot. We ended up here because nothing reasonable was available in Cleveland on this particular weekend.
Only stopped for a night but the room was large and comfortable. TV, coffeemaker, 2 double beds, desk, washroom with separate rooms for shower and sink. Only real issue were some of the other guests. There was a wedding party staying at this resort on this particular night and had a tendency to get loud and wander the hallways. It was bearable but the resort staff did offer, and DID, ask the partiers to quieten down and close their doors anyhow.

Checked in at 2:30 in the morning, staff member was rude and unfriendly. Our waitress at breakfast was lovely though. Room smelled moldy at certain points like it needs a renovation badly. We were put as far away from the main hotel as possible which at 230 am was about as unhelpful as the woman who checked us in... My daughter will be going to college near there and I was hoping this would be a nice place something different than the usual Hampton Inn but I wish I would've just stayed there. Room had previous occupants garbage in it.

It's nice. But it's just nice.

It's a staple of Lake County, but I don't know if it's really qualified to call itself a "resort" anymore. I would call it a good hotel. It's getting a little dated and worn around the edges. With a makeover and some updated amenities it could really reclaim it's glory. Again, it's a good hotel, nicer than anything else in the area. It could be so much more. I recommend it and the steakhouse was very friendly to my son (8) and I, despite being a "fancy" restaurant. We felt welcome and the food was good. Pretty empty for Labor Day weekend.

Interesting hotel outside of Cleveland

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Unique layout, excellent facilities
For those of you like me who like unique hotels, this is a great place. We got there late and didn't have much time to fully enjoy our stay, but I really liked this place. The layout was unique, with a couple of buildings connected to each other by passageways, which must be convenient during the winter. I found it interesting that I started on the ground floor in my building and ended up on the second floor of the lobby without climbing up any stairs. Rooms were more than adequate. The hotel had lots of facilities, including a great exercise room and both indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast was not included, but that gave us an excuse to have dim sum in Cleveland.
