Three week review. All of my experiences.

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The staff was great. The rooms were clean and quiet. Not much else you can really ask for when you're away from home on business.
Cons: Nothing. I only rated 4 stars on the facilities because of the pipe break and resulting water damage. It was repaired before I checked out.
Location: Uh.. work? I'm new to the area and I didn't get out much. I'd just ask the staff. They would be more than happy to give helpful advice.
I booked a room in this hotel in haste after a pretty terrible experience at a different hotel chain. I was travelling for work, working 12 hours a night on night shift. I think I hit the jackpot with Sleep Inn! The hotel staff was very sympathetic to my needs. Housekeeping never disturbed me during my sleep. The staff was never audible outside my door (I'm a light sleeper during the day). My work schedule didn't give me an exact release date, but the staff was more than happy to renew my reservations for two consecutive weeks and were nice enough to keep me in the same room. The staff was always smiling, wishing me good morning and good evening when I saw them. They always appeared to be in a good mood. It's the little things that make staying away from a wife and 3 kids a little more tolerable. There were some other reviews that I was skeptical about. Broken water pipes that had caused water damage to the first floor and whatnot. This last winter Yes, the first floor had some water damage when I first checked in, but by the end of my stay I could barely tell there was any issue at all. Most of the drywall had been replaced/repaired on the first floor. They were still serving breakfast every morning. I never tried the food, so I can't vouch for it. If I had to GUESS about the food, based on the quality of my stay, I'd say it is worth the price tag (which is FREE mind you, so anyone complaining can take their spoiled kids to mcdonalds instead).

Clean room, no frills

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Clean room, comfortable bed. Good variety of television stations for the kids.
Cons: The breakfast really could use some improvement - more variety, more healthful options, the kids would have loved a waffle maker! Lose the taco-eggs!
Location: Good location close to highway, close to Lake Erie beaches, Close to Ashtabula County Medical Center
My husband and I stayed at Sleep Inn for 2 nights with our 2 children. We visit Ashtabula no less than 2-3 times/year to visit family. Unfortunately, we stayed there shortly after the hotel experienced a major flood on the 1st floor - the pool was not available and the main floor looked pretty rough. Although we were disappointed about the pool, we totally understand the situation was beyond their control at this time. My family was, however, very disappointed in the quality of the breakfast - it was really bad (stale bread/bagels,horrible taco-shaped eggs, not much variety, especially if you are at all health conscience) - it was not the "deluxe" breakfast they advertise. I also got the impression that the hotel is not found of guests booking through Expedia, or other 3rd party travel companies... I called prior to our stay and was told they could not answer my questions, I had to call Expedia. I thought that was a little strange since I was staying AT Sleep Inn & I'm pretty confident Expedia gave them my money. If their online rates were as good as Expedia's, I would have booked directly. Regardless, the desk staff was nice & polite after arrival. On a positive note, our room was clean enough and the beds were comfortable, which should be the most important detail about any hotel. I think our experience may have been different if we were not traveling with children. They love to eat & they love a pool - the 2 main reasons we picked this hotel, but, didn't get either :(

Worst Hotel Ever!

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Nothing
We were not informed until our arrival that the pool was broken. I had two very unhappy little girls that they had no pool to play in. What upset me the most was that the pool has been broken since February 22 and no felt it was important to inform me of this. The rooms were dirty and very hot. We turned the AC on the minute we got into the room and had it on until the time we left the next day and it never cooled down. The breakfast was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had at a hotel. Everything was overcooked. We had to find some where else to eat breakfast.

Value for the money

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Clean with good desk
Although the Hotel recently suffered water damage due to a frozen pipe bursting, the staff done an excellent job of cleaning up and making my stay as comfortable as possible. The damage was in the breakfast area, but they were able to relocate the dining area to a nearby room. No damage on upper floors where I quickly forgot about the issues. Best price in the area, this minor inconvenience didn't affect my decision to stay. The damage should be repaired soon.

Comfortable stay

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Unfortunately there was water damage on the first floor due to a burst water pipe about a month before my stay. Felt badly for the hotel as the entire hotel had just been remodeled and the pipe burst due to extreme cold. All floors on the upper level are newly refurbished and are excellent. Once repairs are made on the first floor it will essentially be a brand new hotel. Excellent staff, hotel is right off the I-90 exit so very convenient. I'll stay here again

Don't stay here

Posted Feb 22, 2015
To be fair, a pipe burst but the entire ground floor is down to studs with about 30 fans running. You had to eat the breakfast in your room but that was ok because it was so unappetizing that we went elsewhere to eat. The staff was unapologetic that we had to step over construction mess. Should have given a major discount.
