The staff was competent but not overly friendly. Almost felt like we were going into a hotel to look around but did not belong even though we had a room :-(
However, we left behind some things and the hotel was quick to email us and helped make arrangements to send them along to our next hotel. So in the end they were a great help.

Hotel is very comfortable indeed with a roof top swimming pool and a lovely rose garden in a large and sunny quiet courtyard.
The rooms are nice and quiet with VERY comfortable beds. Rooms are large with a proper bathroom (bath and shower separate). The lounge area inside your room can be separated by sliding partition doors from the bedroom so one of you can have a lie in, or an early night, with no disturbances from the lounge.
LOCATION is the main advantage as so close to Avignon Town Centre train and bus stations as well as opposite one of the ancient town wall entrances to the historic centre of Avignon.

Upon arrival reception was pleasant and courteous. We were early so they offered to store our luggage until our room was ready. This Hotel is very centrally located within 100 or so steps to one of the main squares with a multitude of cafe's and restaurants, however was relatively quiet.
Our only real disappointment was our room. That's were the need to update became evident. The decor was very dated and overall showed wear and tear!

Historic and stylish, Avignon’s highlights are the beautifully preserved ramparts, a huge medieval fortress, and the monumental Palais des Papes, recalling Avignon’s 14th-century papal seat prestige. Made famous in a children’s nursery rhyme, its medieval bridge is also a top attraction, although only four arches remain of the original 22. It’s also famous as a city of performing arts and hosts a spectacular Summer Festival.
