auberge audit

Posted Aug 21, 2013
Pros: well-maintained, comfortable, and safe
Cons: room safe would be nice. A better lounge for an evening drink and conversation.
Location: easy walking distance to all of Baddeck including restaurants, waterfront, music at the parish hall each nite
just as described in trip advisor; clean, good location, reasonable value. Did not use the dining room as it appeared too stuffy and formal and appeared to cater to the tour bus folks mostly. Great place to stay while exploring the Cape and Baddeck.

Not a bad little place to stay. They need to update the decor.

Gisele's in Baddeck is a great place to stay!

Pros: Gardens were beautiful.
Cons: Noisy, early morning group tours leaving hotel.
Location: Great "central" location to tour Cape Breton.
Very impressive at first glance. Loved the "kit" that it contained Bible passages... Fabulous Decor all over, room and dinning room. Quiet, except when "Travel Tourers" left very early in the morning....very noisy...

European style Inn close to Baddeck

Posted Aug 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
This European style inn consists of an inviting outdoor patio café complete with baskets of hanging flowers and a lovely water fountain. The dining room décor recalls European flair. The rooms are nicely appointed, clean, with comfortable bedding, a sitting area with sofa, large windows overlooking the gardens and lake, and an amply supplied bathroom. WIFI is provided gratis. The only drawback might be that breakfast is not included. Overall, it is a very nice place to relax and enjoy the area. Baddeck town is within 5-10 minute walk from the Inn. There are several restaurants, cafes and shops to explore and a picturesque marina for photo opportunities.

Not worth price premium over other nearby inns.

Pros: Comfy bed.
Cons: View of parking lot. Window wouldn't close properly.
Location: Convenient - short walk to town & harbour.
Disappointed with room - at premium resort price, room view was parking lot, had to keep curtains closed for privacy from sidewalk. Rooms without resort-class view should be discounted, not same price as the scenic rooms. Additional charge for second person in room.
