Excellent service, great place to stay!Posted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: Staff are courteous and professional, all are " Go out my way to assist ". Complex is classic, old fashioned retro with charm and class. Only place I
Cons: Stay when in the area on travel or business. Obvious on going updates, carpets and paint is fresh.
Location: Great resort, with full scope of activities in organized visits and water activities.
Received off season upgrade, including in room fireplace!

Just OK - overpricedPosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: The grounds. Cleanliness of the room.
Cons: Carpets are showing wear and stains. Furniture in the dining room needs replacing or repair. Improve or remove the continental breakfast.
Here for one night on business. Room was clean and comfortable, but the heating/cooling system is loud. The front desk clerk told us on arrival that two of the restaurants in the town were open but they were not. He also told us there was a "Full continental breakfast" including from 7-10am in the dining room. Breakfast was a joke. If you are going to do it, do it right - very little selection. Pastries and muffins in packages of 6 and 2 still wrapped up. No cream for coffee, a Tasimo coffee maker with no one around to show anyone how to use it (luckily one of the other guests knew how to operate it and she helped everyone else). No cutlery or napkins on the tables or even available, and only white bread for toast. One staff member trying to run to get things as we asked for them, and also cover the front desk! Again I say if you are going to offer it as a full continental, do it right. I took 2 scones because I didn't feel it right to have to unwrap the package of two and put one back after handling it...For $140, the clerk's information re the dinner options should have been correct, and the breakfast offering was pitiful. The table we sat at in the "breakfast room" was wobbly and had several large dents and scrapes. The grounds of this hotel are beautifully kept though, and aside from the check-in clerk giving us incorrect info re dining options, all staff were polite and courteous.

This is a resort that probably dates back to the 50's. There was pine paneling on the walls and it was a bit musty smelling when we entered our room. The room was clean and comfortable and the food in the pub was very good.

Just a disappointmentPosted Oct 26, 2013
The photos looked really inviting, but this was just a disappointment. Everything was shabby and smacked of a 70s decor. Our room had a musty smell as well. The hotel clerk didn't really seem to know about the town. I would pass on this one.

False advertisementPosted Oct 22, 2013
won't stay again. Pictures looked much better than the actual room. The "standard 2-double bed room" we got was a 2-star motel room. I could have got a 3-star hotel room for the price I paid.

Everything GREAT!Posted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Accessibility, service, staff, amenities - including friendly relaxed pub with good food and just right background live local music
Cons: Can't think of anything. Will have to come again
Location: Single malt brewery tours, blacksmith shop, Step-dance and square dance workshop - Celtic colours festival artists at many venues
Slept well. Ate well. Locked my companion out by mistake = hotel staff very available, cheerful, helpful - quickly resolved the problem without waking me. Location perfect for everything we planned to do - and walks

Do not recommendPosted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
They put us in a unit with 2 floors. We were the only ones in the unit of about 10 rooms. It was pouring down rain and we did not appreciate having to carry luggage up wet steps to reach room. The unit was far away from the reservation desk and did not feel like walking back in rain to complain. Also the TV was VERY old. They did not even suggest places to eat - even their own dining room, so we went to another hotel to eat and got good service. We wished we had stayed there.
