“Such a nice place with very pleasant staff !”
Location is awesome, close to airport but there are so few flights that you never even know it. Staff are very very nice and attentive. We left our camera bag on the Beeline shuttle when we got dropped off at the hotel from the airport. Well, the bellman took care of it and much to our pleasant surprise, the hotel retrieved it and had it secured for us the next am and it was returned perfectly. That was amazing! Caves were gorgeous. The only minor concern was the hotel bar and restaurant were a bit overwhelmed at times. Right around the corner from the hotel is the Swizzle Inn...bar and restaurant...informal, very nice team there, food was good, drinks even better. St George's is a must see and Hamilton in December is slow due to low tourist traffic. Bus system excellent. We will go back for sure.
“GREAT Hotel - GREAT Value”
Wow! This hotel is great and I will go back. Beautiful landscaping and they are out there every day pruning and cleaning the grounds. Everyone is soooo friendly. The furniture is a little dated but it's clean and the bed has a pillow foam top and down pillows. You melt right in. The bathroom is small but nice and the shower is good. The fridge is big so you can buy snacks and water and keep it cold. Room 623 has a great view. Anything on floor 2 or 3 should be great. It's next to the airport but it was actually nice to watch planes land. British Air 747 every nite between 6-6:30. You could barely hear them though. What a view from the balcony. Very relaxing. The food is very good too (great burgers) and you can walk to the infamous Swizzle Inn for a change where the food is also very good. The pool is warm and the bay is calm so it's great if you have young children. You can also walk to Crystal Caves which I highly recommend. Do both caves for $27. Get the transportation pass. $45 for a week - all the buses and ferries you want to see all the islands. Bus stop in front of the hotel is VERY convenient. So what's not great - the TV is old fashioned 19" but it has enough channels to put you to sleep. If it rains I'm not sure it would be so nice. Don't worry about the chickens. Just bring ear plugs to be sure they don't wake you before you're ready. Didn't bother me. In fact it was kinda nice to hear them cackle every now and then.
“Grotto Bay Resort Bermuda”
The Hotel is in a great location on the island, easy to get to most sights, attractions, restaurants etc. by the bus system. That is the way you should travel around the island as it is very efficient and cheap. The buses are in good condition and the drivers are very helpful. You will meet many locals which are extremely friendly and helpful as well. There are no beggars or unsavory people to avoid as in many other holiday destinations, no worries about heading out to see or do anything here! Downtown Hamilton has great shopping and wonderful restaurants to enjoy! Front street is a must see for both the view, shopping and food. Flanagin's Restaurant will ALWAYS feed you well. Hogpenny's is just around the corner as well and is the oldest restaurant on the island. I don't recommend the Swizzle Inn just down the street from the hotel, the food isn't great and the restaurant seems dirty, sticky tables, generally really "pub like" but it is convenient. The hotel restaurant has good food and should be enjoyed, I recommend the lamb dinner, it's great with a good bottle of wine from the cellar. For breakfast, just eat the self serve in the lounge, more than adequate and priced well (you pay for what you want to eat). If you're not a walker, there are a lot of stairs here, and you'll be going up and down all the time. Keep this in mind! There are lots of sights to see in Bermuda, take the time and go see them! I recommend this hotel and trip, I'll be back!
“lovely and secluded”
The hotel is a bit isolated, but that can be a good thing! Beatiful landscape, great for kids, and love Blue Hole water sports on prem...
“Can't wait to go back!”
My husband and I had a great time while in Bermuda. There are a lot of activities at the hotel we stayed and around the island.
“Wonderful!”
We really enjoyed our stay at the grotto bay. Would return again. Very accommodating for our family of four , which included an 8 month old baby and a 12 year old boy. Fresh towels everyday and great food! The all inclusive meal plan saves you a lot of money as Bermudas food is very expensive. Great job Grotto Bay!
“We give Grotto Bay Beach Resort two thumbs up!!!!!”
We found Grotto Bay Beach Resort to be absolutely wonderful!!! The staff was warm and helpful, the food at the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced and our room was comfortable and the housekeeping staff did a great job tidying up for us. We would definitely stay there again. It was a fabulous experience!!!!!
“Bermuda 4/1-6/12”
We had a great time, beautiful resort! Great food!
“Have to Like Roosters”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Grotto Bay, although it was difficult to sleep at night. The roosters crow 24/7, right outside your room. Our room was very nice and the staff there were excellent. All facilities are as advertised. Nice private beach, good food, although only one other restaurant in walking distance. If we go back, we will probably try to stay where there is not a rooster problem.
“Grotto Bay - Out of Way - But Worth it!”
The Grotto Bay Hotel was great. Nice room, friendly and helpful staff. Good food! Altough not on the south shore by the beaches, the hotel is great for those who prefer to enjoy peace and quiet (which they do not get in Hamilton) and still be within a short distance of Hamilton and St. George. Best Bonus - right next to the original Swizzle Inn and thus you can swagger out and back to the hotel in no time.
