Freeway Noise and skimpy breakfast.Posted Oct 12, 2014
Pros: Staff was quite friendly.
Cons: Move this Best Western to Exit 257 where there are more places to dine other than an IHOP.
Location: On I-5 4 miles south of the exit to Bakersfield. Large feed lot half a mile to the east, make sure there is a good breeze from the west.
The back side of the property is up against I-5 and it was quite noisy all night long. We have stayed at properties against the freeway before but they have all been well insulated, this wasn't. Continental breakfast consisted of several breads, cereals, yogurt, fruit, and cold hard boiled eggs. There was also coffee, juice, and tea. Seating area was quite small, 3-4 tables and maybe 8-10 chairs. Next trip through the area we will stay at a property at Exit 257 and avoid Exit 253.

Great hotel off of I5Posted Jul 9, 2014
We had a baby and require more time to check out. Call the front desk and the manager said no problem. She even offer us yogurt and juice to go. Excellent customer service and would highly recommend to others needing a place to stay off of I5 near Bakersfield.

Great hotel, reasonable price. 10% AARP discount.Posted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: I was please to get the 10% AARP discount as this was not mentioned on Expedia. Just ask for it when you get there!
Cons: The front desk clerk had the personaility of a rock. He really should have smiled and been friendly.
Needed a hotel as we were going to the Calif. hot rod show and races at the Famosa Racetrack.. Even though this hotel is on the outskirts of town, it is a 25 minute drive to the track. Everything closer was just wayyyyy to expensive. The room looked exactly like the picture.

AdequatePosted Jun 18, 2012
Pros: Close to I5
Cons: No wherevmearby to eat other than jack in the box or IHOP
Location: Middel of Nowhere on I 5
Average road stop motel, could be cleaner, freshened up. Near I 5 but traffic noise not a problem from our room. Breakfast area too small, selection barely adequate. HIE express breakfast much better.

Not my first choice next timePosted Mar 22, 2012
The hotel is in need of some repair. The bath tub was cracked and needing attention. The tables at breakfast needed to be cleaned. I cleaned off a table for my family while a staff member behind a counter looked at a computer. It wasn't busy in the hotel so the desk clerk could have easily checked on the tables and done desk duties. Pool was dirty.

Good BargainPosted Sep 28, 2011
Really convenient from Interstate 5. Staff was extremely helpful. Decent breakfast that lets you waste no time in getting back on the road. Ask for a room facing away from the Freeway.

Great place for an overnight stay.Posted Sep 26, 2011
We needed a place to stay overnight on our way from Nor Cal to San Diego and this placed worked out very well for us. The rooms were clean, good sized and modern. The beds were very comfortable and were provided with four big soft pillows. The only thing I would complain about is that it is close to I-5 so you can hear the highway noise but if you're a sound sleeper, this shouldn't be a problem. The continental breakfast was fine, it consisted of cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit, etc. When we arrived late that night, the whole neighborhood was without power. The staff was very accomidating, they checked us in and walked us to our room with flashlights and made sure that we were safe inside. The next morning when we checked out, we were given a discount due the minor inconvenience. I would stay here again.
