“Very nice hotel-close to concert”

Very nice and clean hotel. We were there for an Elton John concert and it was only half a block from it. We were able to walk to and from the concert and felt very safe--nice part of town. We found our stay to be very enjoyable--especially the check-in. Lady behind the desk was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

“The Best at Best Western Hill House Bakersfield, CA.”

I would recommend this Hotel to everyone. The grounds are very nice as well as the pool area. The room are charming, clean and have all the amenities I was looking for. Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, refrigerator, microwave, clean and neat. Quiet even though it is downtown, no riff raff. Great Restaurants right across the street as well as in the hotel itself. Awesome experience! We will stay there again and again. The staff is very courteous and helpful in everyway. A++++++

“Nice Place”

The hotel was quiet for the most part. Was kind of disappointed that the restaurant was closed at the time. Room was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff was polite and friendly. There are no elevators to get to the second floor so I would't recommend for someone who has a difficulty climbing stairs or if you have a lot of luggage!

“Great guest service; clean room; great staff”

My 87-year-old mother and I stayed at this hotel Aug. 28-31st. Although the hotel is undergoing renovation, we were not in the least inconvenienced. Our rooms were newly carpeted. The beds and spaciousness served us very well. The bathtub's shower walls are granite with a granite shelf at shoulder level for soaps and shampoos. The restaurant was very convenient and the food was tasty. In spite of the renovation, the staff treated us superbly. I've put my mom up at costlier hotels that provided fewer amenities and definitely weren't as clean, sparkling, and comfortable for her. The desk staff was gracious. The housekeepers were friendly and extra helpful. I'm just a daughter moving her 87-year-old mother from her home in Bakersfield, CA to where I live in Omaha, NE. This was an emotional time for mom: a time of letting go of the familiar and moving to the unknown. Best Western Hill House at 700 Truxton Avenue in Bakersfield CA helped me make mom's move a bit easier. I can't say enough about the Best Western Hill House and its staff.

“HUGE rooms!”

We had to arrive very late 1 AM but was warmly greeted and checked in within 90 seconds. Could not be happier. The room was HUGE. Nice high ceiling. Just an older tv. But a very comfortable giant king bed.

“Stop over to Bay area”

I would defintely consider staying at this hotel again. My family decided to stay one night on our way driving to the Bay area. We arrived late at night with no problems checking in. The room was nice. It was in the process of being reinnovated, but we could hardly tell. The hotel is older, but still very nice. We stayed on the first floor, which worked out because we noticed there wasnt an elevator to the second. Overall, the staff was nice and grounds were secure.

“Good choice in Bakersfield”

A fine small hotel, sparkling clean and nicely located in the center of Bakersfield, across from the central library, convention center and AMTRAK depot. The newly-finished linear water park, Bakersfield Riverwalk, a beautiful adaption of a functioning irrigation canal, runs right next to the hotel and extends for many blocks north, with walkways, seating, play areas, covered bridges and sport courts. The manager recommended several good restaurants nearby. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

No bells or whistles or fancy exteriors here. The room was very clean and comfortable. Quiet area. Price was right and would recommend.
