“Bakersfield Best Western Hill House”

I traveled to Bakersfield on business and this hotel was located in a convenient location. About 20 minutes from the airport and in the main business area. The staff was very helpful and rooms were clean. Lighting in the bathroom could be better. I would stay here again. A good Mexican restaurant is located directly behind the hotel.

“Not fancy, not dumpy”

We stayed at this Hotel while attending a concert at the Rabobank arena. It is very close - just a one block walk in a decent neighborhood. The hotel was clean, but dated.

“A comfortable hotel to go back to”

We are pleased with our room. The last time we were in Bakersfield for 1 night on our way to Vegas, we lived in Days Inn and it was a shock to us. The rooms were no clean and the neighbourhood was not too safe. This time, we chose more carefully even though we are just there to rest for a few hours. We drove from San Francisco to Vegas, so we wanted to take a break in the middle and Bakersfield likes like a good place to stop in between.

“worth the price”

For the price It was a comfortable stay...Bakersfield seems to be overpriced for its location..The pool was nice but I had to complain about an uncovered suction inlet on the sidewall..I'm sure it is repaired by now cause The agent said he would follow up on it..

“Nice place, nothing fancy but good enough”

Nothing fancy but very well located for one who would like to be close to the down-town area.

“Mixed Results”

The hotel is an older, but well kept up facility. There are no elevators, so you have to drag your luggage up and down the stairs. The morning breakfast was simple, but clean and well stocked. The attached restaurant was another story. For an Italian restaurant to run out of common kinds off pasta early in the evening is inexcusable. In addition, the service was terrible during all stages of my visit. Once I could order something off the menu that they actually had, the food was OK. I had a very long wait to order, a very long wait to get my food, and a very long wait to get my bill! Oh, yeah... the place was half empty! Sad...
