We needed a hotel for a family reunion in Bakersfield and we were happy with this hotel. The hotel was clean except they did not wipe down the headboard. You could see the oil spots that previous guests had left from leaning their heads. Everything else was acceptable. Nothing super fancy but good for the price. 4 stars.

Works well as a place to stay in Bakersfield. The first room smelled like smoke pretty bad when we requested a non smoking room. The hallway also smelled like cat urine. The staff was friendly and accommodating when we requested a different room and moved us to a different room which smelled fine.

Very Nice in Bakersfield

Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Big TV, comfortable bed and nice work space in the room.
Cons: Not really.
Location: Freeway ready.
Another overnighter for work. Congested area, but good food within walking distance. I suggest the stuffed sirloin and lobster tail at the Hungry Hunter. I must say that the ladies that checked me in were more than attractive! Bed was very comfortable. Really wish I could have stayed longer.

Good stayover, but avoid the breakfast

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: Comfortable and well-run. I would definitely stay here again, as I have before.
Cons: The Bistro. It's overpriced for the quality and amount of food I received, with very poor service.
Location: Didn't do anything nearby, just filled up at the Costco across the street.
The room was everything I have experienced at this hotel before, when staying on business. Very comfortable, very easy to get to the room, friendly and helpful staff. The one downside was the Bistro. Between the painfully slow service, getting our food just as it was nearing room temperature, and the poor quality of the food, we were very disappointed. At nearly $30 for breakfast for the two of us, we would have done better to head out for the Denny's around the corner. If I'm in Bakersfield again on business or personal travel, I'll stay here again, eagerly. I just won't eat here.

Cons: Staff could be more helpful.
We booked a room with two queen beds. We were placed in a room with two double beds- did not notice the discrepancy until late- the staff would not make restitution and indicated that they could not because we booked through Expedia. The staff offered us two cups of free coffee for our trouble.

Dear Traveler, I am sorry you feel as though my staff did not compensate you adequately. When a guest pays through expedia we have no way to financially compensate you. We hope you do decide to stay with us again and that you have a more enjoyable stay! Have a great day!

Nice hotel - what you would expect from a Mariott.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, modern lobby, good pool.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Not much
Stayed for one night with the family on vacation, and it was a nice hotel - no real complaints at all. The wifi was better than most of the hotels we have stayed at. The pool was nice. Overall about what a typical Mariott is, which is a good thing!

Stopped on the way to Vegas.

Pros: Right off the highway.
Cons: Clean and update.
Location: Costco is close.
Old dirty hotel for a Marriott. It was convenient for Costco gas right across the street. No complementary breakfast. Did laundry and being handicapped I had to walk to the end od the hotel. The halls and laundry room were to hot to stay in.
