“Will definatly go back!”
Easy to find, very clean, comfortable, and it even has a Starbucks in the lobby! I will definatly be back.
“Great get a way”
After I booked our room I recommeded it to the others going with us on our get a way. As far as I know everyone was satisfied with their room and the hotel as well.
“Bakersfield's best hotel”
The staff was super friendly and helpful. We weren't there long, however our stay was enjoyable.
“Bakersfield Doubletree”
The hotel is great. Typical high quality you'd expect from a Doubletree...but...the way this hotel was built is ridiculous! The parking is very limited, and to get to my room, on the other side of the hotel, I either had to park in the back, go down a flight of stairs to a hall, find the hidden elevator, take it up 3 flights then walk down too long halls to my room - OR....go to the end of my hall, go up a flight of stairs, take a long catwalk to the main area of the hotel, go down 2 flights of stairs to the lobby. Make SURE you get a room that's close to the front of the hotel.
“Cherry Time”
We travel to Bakersfield every year. We go to my cousin's ranch, north of Bakersfield, to pick cherries and have a barbecue. This is a convenient hotel. It has great beds, warm cookies at check in, pleasant staff, grounds that are very nice and a good restaurant. What more can you ask for?
“Cookies Don't Make Up For Staying Here - Will Never Stay Here Again”
Will never be staying here again. Asked for two rooms away from noise. Got two rooms next to VERY LOUD freeway. Old dirty creaking elevators, only two of them. Ants in one room. One of the days we were there the water was turned off for six hours. The next morning, there was NO water pressure for a good shower. Called to complain about the water being shut off, and was basically made to feel that because I booked through a "third party", that I was not worth listening too. Promised manager would call back. Never did. Last night there, came back to our rooms at 10 p.m. to find none of our keys worked. Had to hike up and down endless hallways ( I am not kidding when I say we must have walked over a mile) to find the front desk. Were told it was a "technical problem", but were offered a COOKIE for our problems. Have never wanted to tell someone where to put their cookie so much in my whole life. Oh, and one of our shower curtains were missing for the next mornings no water pressure shower. Luckily (?) they left up the flimsy liner. Found hair in the shower when we first checked in, and a couple old blood stains on the sheets on one bed (ewwww), so have doubts about the cleaning. The only thing that was done right was we got two connecting rooms. They charged us an extra person charge of $10 a day for three days. It has taken numerous phone calls, hours of my time, to be told that I should be getting a refund. I make better cookies at home which I'll bring to a different hotel!!!
“We will not return here”
We checked in on Thanksgiving evening. The young man at the desk gave us really circuitous directions that took us out of the parking lot, down a street and back onto the parking lot. If he had told us to proceed in a clockwise direction, rather than making a u-turn, the route would have been much more direct. He seemed unfamiliar with the property. Much worse, though, was the fact that the heating system did not work at all. It blew cold air into an already frigid room. We called the front desk and asked for a relocation, which they quickly provided. Although we asked for a quiet location, our room (both the first and the second) was on the east side of the building, adjacent to the freeway. This was not at all conducive to a restful evening. I'm not sure how old this property is, but we could only find 2 banks of elevators - both of which were quite a long walk from our room. During a long walk to the lobby, we even passed by graffiti tagging on a wall, right next to the staff offices. You would think they might have noticed this and had it painted over or cleaned! I would not stay at this hotel again. The famed Doubletree cookies were not worth the discomfort.
“Better value needed...”
See above.
“Just a basic not fancy hotel”
Very basic hotel room. Chocolate cookies at check in were delicious i wish they wold allow you to get more daily otherwise they were very expensive at the cafe. More stocked bath towels are needed was not enough for our family. . It was extremely hot in bakersfield that weekend and I thought that the room could have been more cooler. Air conditioning sucked.were many fast food places all around with walmart and a big 5 near by
“OK PLACE TO STAY.”
OVERALL, THIS IS A COMFORTABLE HOTEL. THE ROOMS ARE COMFORTABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
