“A Work In Progress...”

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations at present. Hall carpets are covered with paint, ice machine on first floor is not plugged in. Building materials in the car park and very close to the highway. Room carpet could have been cleaner and the complimentary breakfast was pretty limited. However, the room had a newly renovated bathroom with great shower and easily fit the 2 queen beds and a rollaway. Despite appearances, this was a satisfactory hotel with room prices reflecting the work in progress.

“Not Impressed”

The room they assigned me was not ready all bedding and towels were on the floor. The other room they moved me too was hot the air conditioning did not work very well (temp outside was almost 100). I could not use the pool at all because the hotel decided to paint the pool that weekend; it would have been really nice to go swimming since it was so hot outside. The continental breakfast they advertise they did not have, the burners were not working. I will not recommend this Hotel to no one.

“Allowed 1 set of towels Per stay”

we were only allowed 1 set of towels, there was and old stove top in the room that i was afraid to turn on, the tub had a ring, I got a few bites on my thighs, and the carpet was damp. I had a hard time finding this hotel due to the Name and company change. (Now called Bakersfield inn & Suites) Being an out of towner, It would've made my trip a bit easier if i were able to find the updated name. I went for the hot tub. Sure enough, the hot tub was drained. And the pool was closed. Sure it was in november, but no heaters?

“Awful”

The hotel front desk person tried to hold my clothing and belongings ransom for $100 the day we were checking out because they said we smoked in the room. Not professional at all, very frustrating experience.

“Only if you have no other choice”

It served it's purpose, barely! To start with, the picture posted isn't the place we stayed. The hotel is very old and under serious renovations. Everywhere you looked, there was construction debris mixed with broken or discarded items. Every other room had construction workers staying and drinking, A LOT, right in the walkway to your room. The "continental breakfast" was cold cereal or waffles and that's it. So don't believe for a moment that you stumbled across a deal. You are getting exactly what you pay for here. NOTHING MORE!

“DUMP”

"in the middle of renovations" they said, uh ok, that explains a lot but still I mean the carpet was filthy, there was a dead roach in the hallway, the tub was clogged i had to shower in a puddle, oh and there are a few homeless people living behind the building. I did not feel safe and did not sleep well. Avoid at all costs!

“In 30 years of travel, this was my first real fleabag.”

Don't let the towering palm trees and bougainvillea trick you into thinking you've just found a cool, retro California gem. Not at all. My pet-friendly room (that I had to pay extra for!!) was in a back building that seemed like a boarding house. Lots of long-term renters crowed into the downstairs rooms. The corridor was simply filthy; the carpeting looked like the place had been used to house cattle. There was a super noisy ice machine at the end of the hall and absolutely NO security, which was a little scary. The key card isn't needed to open any of the many doors that opened into the building and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The room itself was ok, but I didn't see a phone to call the desk in case of an emergency. I kept my luggage on chairs though I didn't see any evidence of pests. But there was something left under my bed, a bottle cap or something, so I doubt it gets the most scrupulous cleaning. On the plus side, the bathroom has a tub, so you can soak away the road. I didn't see a phone in the room. The "breakfast" in the morning was the cheapest stuff I've ever seen and there was a woman there monitoring people along with a sign warning anyone from taking any food out of the room! This is s super low-life place, but it's handy to the highway. I'd have to be EXTREMELY desperate to stay there again.

“Look somewhere else”

This place is torn up. This is a construction workers paradise. Located next to the highway you will not sleep all night. The breakfast is a packaged roll and coffee.
