Nice hotel, close to beach and airport

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Cons: Hot water..., it's always luke warm water you get. Bathroom conditions.
Location: Kuta Beach, Airport, Mall's, Kuta Market Square, Restaurants.
I am glad I selected Bakung's Beach Hotel, as it's in walkable distance from airport, Beach and Market place. It's just behind Lippo Mall, makes easier to locate address, and to shop. Only problem I had in my room, "Water clogs in Bathroom, and drains slowly" which I highlighted to hotel staff during checkout. American breakfast is served in morning, however we can also find fried rice and noodles along with that. Very economic, comfortable stay assured. Regards Shivaprasad Dasharath

Good for an quick (overnight stay) if in transit

Posted Sep 1, 2014
We've stayed here before as close to airport and quiet. Rooms are nothing special, but its an easy stay close to airport for the tired traveller on a late flight in and an early flights out. Pool is lovely, gardens pretty and breakfast is good (and included). Staff are very helpful, and will arrange transport quickly and at a good price. We'll stay again, but only for transiting.

Value for money

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Very close to the boats to catch for surfing. It's location is just out of the main area but still only a few minutes walk to all Kuta area.
Cons: Rooms can be noisy. Need to put soft pads under chair legs in rooms. Some people drag the chairs which can be very loud on the tiled floor.
Location: Great restaurants , great beach, most of Kuta is just a short walk away
I have stayed at Bakungs for nearly 30 years. They have renovated most rooms and pool and made effort to give a better hotel to its guests. The price for the room is very reasonable. Cleaned daily and air conditioned. Good value.

Good location close to beach and restaurants

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Clean, tidy and very inexpensive
Cons: The swimming pool bar was unused and needed a good clean. They also needed to fumigate for mosquito's.
Location: 100 metres from the beach and also a major shopping centre in the other direction.
As a surfer, this hotel is great value for money. It was clean and tidy and had easy close access to the boats that take surfers out to Kuta reef etc. Probably not a hotel that I would take my wife to as it was very basic and not that luxurious. I would definitely recommend this to surfers.

Nice hotel, street handy to everything.

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Pool, friendly staff.
Cons: Shower temperature and water pressure.
Location: Short walk to main street which had everything we wanted, shopping (Discovery, Art Market), spas, nice restaurants (Mozzarella, Bubba Gumps, Stadium)
Only problem we had was with shower, temperature varied from cold to boiling, hard to find warm temp and water pressure was low. We had to move rooms as solar unit was leaking in roof. Our next room's shower took 10 minutes to heat up and low pressure. Both rooms were on third floor. Staff were great, breakfast was basic but fine. Pool was perfect. For the low price we paid, it was just fine. Rooms were clean, beds made daily, air con worked. What more could you ask for?

My Fourth Visit

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Great Pool area, fantastic price with two connecting rooms for the family, close to places to eat, shop & have fun
Cons: Having to carry your bags up stairs to get to reception is a drag, so a temporary suitcase bay down low would be good.
Location: Airport. WaterBom Park. Eats. Shopping.
I am a repeat customer at this hotel & feel it is great value for a three star property. I have stayed at Bakungs whilst going on surf trips & need a place close to the airport before catching a domestic flight to another Indonesian destination. You can walk down the road & catch a boat out to the local reefs if you are keen but that is not why I stay here. My last trip I brought the family for a few nights here & we enjoyed being close to Water Bom Park & other attractions of Kuta. We saved money staying here & spent more on our activities. We then went a stayed at a four star resort to be in luxury & get lazy.

Nice hotel and compound close to the Airport

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The hotel was convenient, nice and close to the airport. If your so inclined you could walk there from the airport in 15 mins or easy with a driver.
Cons: Wifi service was a bit clogged with all the guests.
Location: You have access to all of the Kuta area with all the things to do in Kuta.
I stayed at bakung's beach house twice as a stop over getting to other parts of the island. Its only about 3-4 km from the airport and right at the start of the Kuta strip. Kuta is not the place for me as I found it a bit full on. The Hotel rooms were a good price and had good air-con. The compound was beautiful and you could relax away from the hussle of kuta.

Another enjoyable stay at Bakungs Beach

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Pool area
Cons: plumbing, having to carry you bags up & down to reception can be hard work.
Location: great location, walk to Waterbom park, places to eat everywhere, blue taxi gets you to Kuta square for a dollar, airport 15 minutes in traffic.
This was my third visit to Bakungs, this time I took the children where previously I was heading off with the fella's for surf trips. Bakungs is a budget hotel right near the heart of Kuta. Handy for getting to the airport. If you are looking for 4 or 5 star this is not the hotel for you. This property is perfect for when you want to spend your money going out and seeing things all day or you just need a place while waiting for a connecting flight to another Indo island.

one of the worst places i have ever stayed

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: nothing at all
Cons: all most every thing
When we got there the frount of the house looked bad and did not get any better from there.First off do not look any thing like the pic they show. Room we got was not that clean look outdated and smail. Bathroom was not that nice know that it is a other part of the world but do like to take a shower and not have water all over the bathroom, shower was on one side of the room and the floor run down to the other side of the room. when we got there was no towels in the room called and ask for some they came with two towels that was all they give and both look old and worn, bring own towels for the pool do not have any there to. stayed the night but did not like food was not that good in the moring. We left and went to a nicer place that day
