Fantastic, serene getaway!Posted Jun 9, 2014
We stayed five nights in this fabulous place, more than we had planned to, because we loved it so much. It's absolutely perfect. Stunning views, good food, extremely friendly staff that attend to your every need.

stay with nature, Bali feeling!Posted Jan 30, 2014
Cons: Better lighting in rooms.
This villa gave us true bali experience as we looked over rice paddies and the beautiful forest. The staff were kind and helped us plan our daily tour path around Ubud. Breakfast was good, with different options to suit different tastes. Would go back to this villa if we visit bali again.

Piece of paradisePosted Jan 3, 2014
Location: Ubud village is 15 minutes away and there's a free scheduled shuttle. We saw monkey forest, art gallery, balinese dancing, great restaurants and shops
Villa Ubud was spectacular. The setting was breath taking with the back drop of the forest and the room was beautiful and very clean. Really nice to be out of the hustle and bustle. The staff made it extra special. All of them were so kind and would do anything for us. I don't usually visit anywhere twice but would definitely go back. As there are only 10 villas its really nice and intimate. Great place to go as a couple or with a group of friends/family. Spa treatments are such good value that we had one every day. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Close to paradisePosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Room size, wonderful staff, great food and fantastic service
Cons: I am sure the pool is amazing, I would love to have seen it full!
Location: Perfect location just outside Ubud with many free shuttles a day. Myriad of things to do in and around Ubud - take your pick!
Despite the fact that the pool was being renovated, this was the best hotel I have stayed at, in 8 different places in Bali. The attention to detail was flawless. Our every need was anticipated and met with grace and curtesy, even a boxed up breakfast at 6am when we went on a day trip. With a massive room, exquisite gardens and exceptional staff this will always be my top pick. Oh and they even took us by private car to nearby villa whenever we wanted to swim!!

Great Hotel! But Bali sure aint what it used to bePosted Jul 25, 2013
Great hotel, 20 minute drive from central Ubud. ==> Quiet, relaxing, next to rice fields and dense jungle, decent meals, reliable shuttle into Ubud, friendly staff.

Treat yourselves to a little luxury...Posted Jun 30, 2013
Pros: My favourite things? Friendly and helpful staff, the complimentary shuttle service, free Wi-Fi and general affordability.
Cons: I missed having access to a laptop and English speaking television programs.
Location: I was aware that Villa Ubud was some way out of the centre of town when booking but transport, whether by two wheels or four, was easy to organise.
We stayed at Villa Ubud for 9 nights together with our four year old and it was great. I guestimate it is less than 10kms from central Ubud. Given that we didn't organise an International Drivers Licence, this meant that our transport options were limited to using the regular shuttle service between the hotel and the town centre or organising our own driver. All of the staff were very obliging and organised additional transport as required. I even negotiated a ride to the Villa on the back of a scooter for AUS $5. The beautifully terraced grounds were calming and peaceful but would make this accommodation difficult for many people to access. Next time I would bring my own IT equipment to help fill in any down-time and take advantage of the complimentary Wi-Fi.

Beautiful, peaceful and welcomingPosted Nov 26, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff, quiet peaceful atmosphere, and the pretty view from the pool area.
Cons: Bathroom was always a little bit smelly - not sure why.
Location: about a 10-15 minute drive from central Ubud - you kind of get a taste of village life along the way!
Villa Ubud was just lovely, it’s a great choice for those who want to stay a bit further away from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud, and enjoy the serenity of a quiet setting. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, and very helpful with booking tours, transport etc for us. They also went out of their way to return my spectacles to me when I left them in the room after we checked out, and their assistance with this was very much appreciated.

Little piece of paradisePosted Aug 23, 2012
Pros: Atmosphere, Cleanliness, Staff
Villa Ubud feels like a little piece of paradise. Nyoman and his team make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive - and nothing can be too much of an ask. The Villa is located outside of Ubud but there is a free shuttle into town 4 times a day, and you can go anytime for 50 000 Rp which is a fair price. The Villa also offers an Airport Shuttle. I had room Mount Batur which was beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean ( a delight after touring Bali for 9 days and having seen quite different accomodations). I am a sensitive sleeper and use earplugs normally - given that I was close to the road I used them here also, speaking to other guests however they did not hear the road noise. The included breakfast consists of either fruit or juice, followed by cereals, followed by either an Indonesian dish or eggs any form, followed by toast, croissant or danish. Tasty and plenty for me. The pool was nice - and so relaxing just viewing the green jungle next to the villa. Shame I could not stay longer, but if I do come back to Ubud one day, Villa Ubud will be my choice.

The place to relax and unwindPosted Jul 7, 2012
Pros: The peaceful setting and chance to really relax and unwind
Cons: The bathrooms smelt a little mouldy (but that nis just the tropics really)
Location: Set amongst the rice paddies, beside a rainforest gorge, about 10 mins drive from Ubud
This was an amzing place to stay as it was very peaceful and a great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, yet still only a few minutes drive away. It felt really intimate staying there as you hardly saw any of the other guests so most of the time it was like having an entire villa and pool all to ourselves. The pool was beautiful and very clean and the lounges were wondeful to relax on all day and read or drink some cocktails in. If you have small children I would just be aware that the pool is really deep. The hotel has a free shuttle bus that goes to Ubud 4 times a day and it was only a $4 AUD taxi ride home so only a nominal cost for staying somewhere so peaceful. The staff were all really friendly and couldnt do enough for you. They arranged some tours for us through the office and also booked some others we found on the web that we wanted to do independently. The food from the hotel is generally pretty good, esp the breakfasts which are enourmous, although after a few nights I think we had eaten our way through most of the options. The spa is also really nice and we had some excellent massages there. The outdoor setting is very nice compared with being crammed into a tiny room in the cheaper massage places in Ubud. Overall we found Bali Villa Ubud a fantastic place to relax and get away form it all.

Ideal venue for some R & R!!Posted Jun 25, 2012
We went to Bali for a relaxing holiday and certainly found this at Villa Ubud! The surroundings (between the forest & rice fields) and the beautiful architecture make this an ideal place for R & R. The service was impecable and made our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend Villa Ubud and will definitely stay there on our next trip to Bali!
