Great character, on the beach, near local flovor!Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: It has great character, and the staff is very attentive and helpful.
Cons: Some facilities are showing their age, but it gives it character.
Location: Along the beach there are many restaurants, shops, and activities. There are also tours of the surrounding area and culture that are facinating.
We were upgraded to a villa with a semi-private pool (only shared with 1 other unit which was unocupied during the duration of our stay), and it was wonderful. Walking from the reception desk to our room and again from there to the ocean took us through a lush garden full of koi ponds and statues. The beach is steps away from the hotel. The staff was always cordial and attentive. Even staff whom we did not introduce ourselves to knew who we were. They took pains to accomodate our requests and promptly inform us when the tour company we booked with called to confirm plans. Diwangkara is located in Sanur. It is in one of the quiteter beaches which is just what my wife and I were looking for. We could easily walk one way along the ocean front path to many exciting restaurants, shops, and tourist activities. We could also walk the other direction and see where Indonesians on vacation go to the beach, and get local food. Overall we would highly recomend Diwangkara Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa to anyone looking to get away for a relaxing beach vacation in Bali.

Older style hotel on the beachPosted Jan 4, 2015
Cons: Choice of breakfast dishes could be better. Bathrooms
Arrived at 2am, checked in nice and quickly, straight to bed, bedding smelled badly of body sweat, on closer inspection bedding had not been changed from previous guest. Unacceptable. Friendly staff and no issue when requesting issues be attended. Seating around the pool very limited however deck chairs provided on the beach. Given a complimentary dinner for two for New Years eve, thank you. Smaller boutique hotel with variety of room styles, nice gardens, could do with some room renovations to improve experience.

Great location on the beachPosted Oct 27, 2014
Stayed 4 nights & had a private pool which was great. Rooms nice & basic. Bathroom run down & in need of an upgrade. Staff great until you get cornered by the guy at the tour desk who asks how you are & tries to sell a trip each day. Great having beach & pool option. Nice stay!

We only stayed one night en route to Nusa Lembognan. The room was a little dated but in a great location close to the fast boats. The staff were polite and helpful.

Diwangkara is a friendly and attractive hotel located on the beach front. It is possible to sit in the restaurant and be about 6 inches from the beach. What else could you want? There's a decent pool. The internet isn't the fastest and you have to login in every time. Depsite it's beach front location it is located a good 10min walk from the main group of beach front hotels/restaurants and as is where many boats from it's own private beach isn't the nicest - we actually paid a little to use another hotels further along. If you want a different choice of restaurant (and there are some beautiful ones on the beach) it's a bit of a walk and parts of it are very dark which may make some feel uncomfortable, particularly as a lot of locals tend to hang round the stalls at night in this area. Anyway, you get what you pay for!
