Budget hotel for those that don't want flashy.

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to central Kuta and the beach, while tucked away to happily sleep at night. Very friendly night staff, and comfortable beds.
Cons: Have all staff talk min basic English. Better linen in rooms. Have milk & normal coffee avail. Have hotel signage facing both ways of road.
Location: Can walk to the main area of Kuta, close to the nightlife and the beach. Close to awesome shop Bamboo Corner that has great meals really cheap! :)
It was a basic hotel that had everything you needed; A/c, fridge, TV with Foxtel, kettle, Bali coffee, tea, sugar, (no milk was available though) complimentary water bottle per day, extra towels, if you requested it. Night staff member Stanley was very happy to help with requests and had a lovely friendly personality. Day staff was not very good with English so I avoided organising anything with her and preferred to wait for Stanley to be back on. Was a bit put off when we first arrived to find a towel with a big hole in it, however extra towels requested were of better condition. Cleaning was passable on arrival. Room was not re-cleaned in the 5 days we were there. (Not sure if we needed to request it but we didn't mind as we were hardly there). Ensuite was quite small but again good enough to serve it's purpose. Great hotel if you're looking for something cheap to use for showering and sleeping, and plan to be out exploring Bali most of your days. A restaurant was being built while I was there and was going to be ready about 2 weeks after I left. This would improve things as you would then have an option to have breakfast there instead of going out to find somewhere to eat. Also, WiFi was available but as with most of Bali was a weak connection and I found it was stronger if I stood near my door. It was enough though to keep me connected to family and friends back home through facebook. We were able to walk everywhere in Kuta from there too.

Guesthouse Matahari

Posted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Location is ideal
Cons: Provide In Room Slippers and more hangers.
Within 5 minutes walk to Matahari Supermarket and Kuta Square. Within 10 minutes walk to Kuta Art Market and Kuta Beach. Within 15 minutes walk to Hard Rock Cafe. English of Staffs were not good so we had a hard time communicating.

ok, hotel close to the beach and shopping mall

The staff were all very polite. My only real problem i had with the hotel was the bedding. The pillows, duvets etc had a horroble smell to them and where all heavily stained.

No Frills Accomodation

Posted Mar 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was below average consider value for the money charged. Location is great and convenient - which is a plus! Everything is "self-serve" make every request from cleaning the room to complimentary bottle water. 3rd bed was just a mattress on the floor, which is quite dirty and black. Would stay again for ONLY budget /cheap traveling with 2 guests but not three in group. Staff was friendly but language is a big thing - They can serve you better if you could use some local words. Wifi is really slow and drop off frequently.

A cheap place to sleep at night

Posted Mar 23, 2013
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No Wi-Fi signal in rooms
Location: Location is not bad and everything is in walking distance.
They advertised as Wi-Fi available in all rooms. But no Wi-Fi signal in any of the rooms. Wi-Fi signal is available only in the lobby. But only two chairs are in the lobby which would be always occupied by the hotel staff and no place for customers to sit and use internet. Location is not bad and everything is in walking distance. Overall it is a cheap place and you will get for what you pay.

Very cheap Homestay, you get what you pay for

Stayed there two nights when in Kuta during a recent trip. While the service is a bit amateur-ish, it is still very friendly. On the same notes, the rooms could be better-equipped and a tad cleaner, but you're not staying at or paying for 5-star hotel. All in all I was happy about my stay.

Pretty good

The staff were very friendly which was the nicest thing about the hotel. They were always willing to help with problems or booking. The location is great too; there are many places to eat along the road and excellent shopping the next street up. Plus, the pool was totally worth it! The only "problems" are that our room only had one tv channel and that there was a very slight musky odor. However, we were there in shoulder season (March) where there was a lot of rain so that might explain that. In any case we just bought incence so it was fine. Either way, I would stay here again.

Cheap, no frills accomodation

Posted Sep 27, 2012
Pros: Great location and friendly staff.
Location: Central to JL legian, JL Kantika Plaza, Kuta square and the beach- was very easy to walk around.
We wanted a cheap hotel and we got it. There was no safe in the room, no daily water, no daily room cleans etc (however, you could request them), no pool, and no breakfast BUT it was really cheap, in a great location, and the staff were friendly and helpful when required. Overall, we were satisfied with our accomodation but I would only recommend to those who aren't afraid of less than 3 star quality.

Evening staff is more helpful than morning staff

Posted Sep 6, 2012
Pros: great comfortable beds, clean rooms, kitchenette in the room and great service in the evenings!
Cons: Staff during the mornings were not as helpful as the evenings staff members, and the front desk doesn't have a lot of info about the surrounding area
Location: Great location! It was a 5 minute walk to Kuta beach and only seconds away from some of the main shopping and dining streets. Very quiet!
The gentleman who works in the evenings (Andy) was very helpful and knew the most english. The ladies in the morning, did not know as much english or information about the surrounding area. Overall, the stay was great, the rooms were clean, and the kitchenette facilities are in the room and useable. I would definitely recommend this guest house to others!
