“AWESOME!”
I spent three nights there, including Christmas Eve. The staff is incredibly humble, helpful and honest. The food is delicious and the peace that the place inspire is absolutely stunning. I would really really really spend another longer stay there.
“Exceed our expectations in every way, small & intermate, great location”
We have been to Bali many time and never have we enjoyed our accommodation more.Friendly helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Our villa was private and romantic. Enjoyed many beautiful evenings dining by our private pool, or being taken by the resort shuttle to dine on Sanur Beach. We loved our 2 week stay and will definitly be returning.
“Best for couples”
The accomadations were beyond what I expected. As a single traveler, it was more than I required. It did not have either computer connections, nor TV. However, this resort would be ideal for a couple on holiday who wanted to really get away from it all and also be pampered at a high level.
“cosy hideaway”
it is a nice cosy place, very balinese, quiet, relaxing and good place to recover from the traffic in Bali.
“Charming small quiet Balinese hotel.”
This is a charming boutique hotel. The grounds and the pool is beautiful. It is very quiet. The included breakfast is excellent. We also had dinner in the poolside restaurant and it was very good.
“An original idea - not adequately executed”
The room---or mini-bungalow---at the Waka Maya hotel comprises an enclosed bedroom dominated by a four-poster bed and an exterior bathroom with a sunken tub. The bedroom is connected to a tiny, walled garden. While a guest might get used to this indoor-outdoor combination in time, the first night is quite complicated. The bedroom needs air-conditioning that loses its effect every time you got out into the bathroom. There is also the risk of mosquitoes at dawn and dusk..and this compromises the use of the sunken tub since the bather is completely exposed to insect life. This is complicated by the slowness of the water-flow into the tub. Eventually I tired of waiting and jumped in to just a few centimeters of warm water! The four-poster bed is surrounded by hanging cloth. Each piece is only one meter wide and the sleeper has to push one aside in order to get into bed. However the spaces between the hanging pieces are so great that they do not protect against mosquitoes. Everything in the bedroom is arranged around the large bed. Even partially unpacking my suitcase meant that the items were spread out over small tables, chairs and on top of the suitcase itself. In short, an untidy mess. In summary, the room is just too complicated and the generally low standard of construction and finish-work means that a stay is quite uncomfortable with much time lost due to weak plumbing and the cluttered arrangement of the bedroom furniture.
“Local and rustic - staff extremely friendly”
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I liked it myself except for no water at one time (late morning). This was not only missing hot water which I would be ok with but there was no cold water either. The place is a little run down and there is a lot of mosquetos. The bongalow was nice and the bathroom big. TV only on request which was another issue for my girlfriend.
